I have read so many great reviews on Le Cellier. Although we are not a big steak eating family everything here sounds so yummy. I am looking for opinions on the lunch here. We allready have our dinners all set and can add in one more lunch.

Thanks for the help

Lunch is a must do for us! It is a great place to get out of the heat and relax for a bit. I usually book a late lunch (around 2ish) and then we get a snack in the countries later for dinner as it is a big meal even at lunch.

DH and I ate at LeCellier two days in a row last week---once with family, once with friends. I had the petite filet the first day, but only because we weren't touring the parks that day---would have been too full. It was very good, but still too filling with the mashed potatoes.

Here's my list:

cheddar soup ****

filet ****

steak burger **** (the kids ordered this, it was huge and a great deal)

fries that came with it ***** (very, very yummy, home style, better than the mashed potatoes IMO)

Beef tenderloin salad ***** (I ordered this and LOVED it--very tender beef, nice combination of lettuce leaves)

lobster roll ??? DH ordered this and I never got to taste it. He seemed to like it. I wasn't thrilled by the looks of it though; it wasn't large chunks of lobster in a roll (like you expect a shrimp roll to look) but more of the consistency of chicken salad, with a lot of mayonaise. I personally wouldn't order it but YMMV.

Calgary Maple Barbecue Chicken Sandwich
a friend ordered this and said it was delicious! It looked really good.

Prime Rib French Dip
I had this a year ago and thought it was okay. Would give it ***

Chocolate Raspberry Shake *****
dh ordered it and was very good

Maple Cream Brulee**********
save room and order this for dessert, it's to die for

chocolate whiskey cake ****
good flavor, but it's not the creme brulee

We are also going for lunch for the same reason - not big steak eaters. I plan to have the cheese soup, either beef dip or jumbo shrimp - anyone had these and can you comment - and definately the maple creme brulee.  If you guys see some lady rolling out of there one afternoon it is probably me!!LOL :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We have had lunch there. I thought the French Dip sandwich was the best I've ever had. We also had the cheddar soup and children'ss steak meal. It's our favorite restaurant now for food and service. The atmosphere is also nice and cool on a hot day.

I'm going to give Le Cellier a third try next February, but until then I'm going to continue to warn folks about my two, previous experiences this way: Don't order the smaller steaks. Mine were consistently dry and gristly. If you're going to order a steak there, order a big one; I hear they're great.

I had the BBQ glazed filet and it was superb! But DH's NY Strip was just as Bicker described; dry and gristly, very tough. He didn't care for it at all.

Thanks everyone..

I am going to call and try to get an ADR tomorrow for lunch! I can't wait to try the food here!
