The CM I just spoke to at Disney Dining said that LeCellier does *not* accept walk-ups.... that's amazing! Since we can't get ADRs, I thought we'd just give it a shot, since it's on such short notice (12/13 or 16), but she said that they don't accept walkups.... odd.

They might tell you no, but I certainly would ask rather than take the word of the phone CM. Maybe if you go at a very off time, like when they first open?

I'd also keep calling, people may still cancel some ADR's.

I would say this is true. While waiting for our table last week, we saw numerous families turned away. They were told that they do not accept walk-ups and they were fully booked for the next 2 years. I know the booking window for ADR's is 180 days, so I'm thinking the hostess was misinformed on the process, but that is what she said over and over again to walk-ups.

I wonder if she meant to say 2 months and got confused.

When I was there in October, they were not accepting any walk up. One person tried to argue, but they just told her they did not have any openings at all for the rest of the month unless they got a cancellation. She told here that she could try each morning at their hotel concierge to see if anything opened up but they were one of the most popular places to eat so it rarely happened.

I read a good tip that said if you can't get the ADR you want before you go call Disney dining the morning you want the ADR to see if anyone canceled, it said that you have a better chance that way than showing up at the podium. I don't know if it will work but it's worth a try. Good Luck :)

And as for being booked two years in advance it is yet more misinformation from a CM.

Le Cellier does NOT accept walkups barring some incredibly large number of no-shows.

I would agree with this too! I actually cancelled 2 ADR's the day of those ADR's. (an LTT lunch and a Boma breakfast)

They DO accept them for lunch however. We went in March, with an ADR, and they were taking walkups as we were waiting for a table.

We were there in Oct and tried to be a walk-up. We were told a stern NO and then they actually laughed at us... :rolleyes1

The hostess said without an ADR, no one would be getting in there...

funny- we were there in October also, we were only able to get adr's for lunch that day. While we were waiting for our table a young couple came up and made dinner ressies for Dec. Christmas week I believe, which was no problem, then asked if there was any way they could have dinner that evening, they were told no not for dinner but had an opening for lunch. After talking a bit they were able to have a table @ 4 pm. If I had known there was an opening at 4 pm I would have taken that instead of our 2:50 pm.

We were there for lunch in both July and end of Oct. this year and they took walk ups both days. We checked in at 11:20am and we watched them take walk ups, really surprised us. Give it a try, it won't hurt.

Walk-ups are becoming a thing of the past and were once common prior to the DDP. Now most restaurants are not accepting walk-ups, since their 100% booked unless it is a restaurant within a deluxe reosrt with club which retain 10% of the seating for club guest.

During our recent trip is was sad to hear so many people being told their 100% booked for the day....mind you this is even in the value season...the days of walk-ups are pretty much gone.

I had two ADR's for lunch at Le Cellier last February. On both days, while I was waiting for the restaurant to open, people would come in and ask about walk ins. The hostess told them she wouldn't know until the restaurant opened if they would be taking any walk ups, or how many they could take. On both occasions, they did take a few, because I saw these same families seated not long after I was. I imagine they try to discourage walk ins at Le Cellier, and I also figure they probably handle it on a day by day basis, so it's safer to just say "no walk ins" than to say "well, they may take walk ins if this, that, and something else happens". Fewer disgruntled guests that way, since they know there will be some people inquiring about walk ins regardless.

I would try calling Disney dining the day of, and if that doesn't pan out, it doesn't hurt to ask at the restaurant, but do it for lunch and plan on being there when they open. Be sure you have a backup plan in place to dine somewhere else if you can't get in. Although I enjoy TS dining, I hate scheduling my vacation around ADR's, so I'm OK with CS if a last minute TS doesn't pan out.

You can also go to Guest Relations in Epcot and check for openings. When there last summer, they had a board in the lobby with openings for each restaurant posted. The goal of the DDP is to fill each restaurant to 100% capacity every night. While walk-ups may be discouraged, I am sure that they will take you if there is an opening, as less than 100% reflects on them... especially when they are highly sought after.

We've seen walkups when we've had lunch there but not at dinner. Going before lunch starts is your best bet but probably not likely during a busy time of year.

Our ADR on Thurs was for 5pm and we checked in around 4:45 and several people were told the restaurant was totally full. Especially in Dec with the CP dinner package I don't think there are many Epcot restaurants that have room for walk ups.

We were there the last week of November, and the family in front of us got a walk up. It was the first dinner seating. She checked and said - you'll be our last walk up tonight.

The sit down restaurants have been very full the last couple of years! We try to go during value season, but that means that it is "free" dining! So although there isn't a wait for the rides and attractions, there is no way of securing last minute dining reservations. How funny is that?

We are taking a last minute Christmas trip. I am super excited that I found 2 ADRs. It just takes calling very frequently until you get something! I have a lunch with the Princesses in Norway, and the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose. I seriously have tried, but cannot secure any other character meal. I'll keep trying though.

Thanks for the idea of calling first thing in the morning of the day I want the ADR. See? THAT is why I love the DIS!!!
