LeCellier 2 credits starting in March ?

I wonder what this will do to the menu prices. We are doing TiW on the next trip instead of DDP so we will see. At least it may be easier to get ADR in the evening.

We all knew this was coming eventually, I'm just still a bit surprised it's here. This is definitely going to drive up the popularity of lunch ADRs at Le Cellier. But I'm really interested to see how Le Cellier dinner fares against the other Signature restaurants in the World. I just don't see it matching up with them.

Maybe we should change our ADR's to include LeCellier for dinner on our upcoming trip in November to take advantage of only having to use on TS (or just have lunch, either way :confused3). I would love to dine there but my DS27 is a vegetarian and wasn't sure if they really had anything good to offer him.
From what I've read, the vegetarian offerings at Le Cellier are usually pretty good.

I really don't think Le Cellier is worth 2 credits. I think Disney just did this because its popular and they can. People on the regular DP will now loose even more value.

Me either, unless they make some menu changes and maybe open up the dining room a little. The signatures we've been too have all been much more upscale, not so much seated on top of the people next to you, and Le Cellier's menu doesn't even begin to compare with the resort signatures. At best, if they update the menu somewhat, I think it could be a second-tier signature like Brown Derby, but there's no way it will be on the same level as Yachtsman or California Grill or Jiko.

Anyone know what the lunch hours are?

Thanks!:thumbsup2
Carla

They open at 11:30 am. Last year our lunch reservation was at 1:50 pm. I just did a search for an ADR for February 1, 2011. I looked for 3:00 pm. There was availability at 2:50 pm then not again until 4:00 pm. I would guess that 4:00 pm is the beginning of dinner time.

I don' think the current lunch hours matter. If lunch and dinner will require a different number of DDP entitlements (credits) for payment, the restaurant WILL be closing for some period of time between the two meals.

If La Cellier is going to 2 credits, does that mean Yachtsman Steakhouse is going to 3? I really don't see any comparison between these 2 restuarants (Yachtsman is in a much higher league). Why would anyone use 2 TS at La Cellier when you can go to Yachtsman for the same thing???????

Any ideas or rumors on lunch menu changes? My main reason to eat dinner is the Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes which are not offered for lunch. LC is my favorite restaurant & I would hate to lose it in my ADR rotation. Any ideas on if they will offer the potatoes for lunch when it changes to a Signature at dinner?

The cream cheese mashed potatoes are listed for lunch on the allears menus.

They have always been willing to substitute the mashed potatoes in place of the risotto.

Ugh- hoping the changes dont take effect till March! Just made a 6pm ADR for Feb 10th- my 30th Birthday. Since we are going to be on the dining plan I am crossing my fingers that its still 1 TS. I hope Disney officially announces it soon so I dont have to wait and wonder

I don't think anybody can have any idea right now what the menus will look like in March 2011.

My Dh says that if they're making it two credits they should take out half the tables and make sure the beef doesn't have a big line of gristle running through it . I still like their cheese soup and bread sticks. Guess we could go and pay OOP for an appetizer and dessert :goodvibes.

Crap. We don't DDP, but we love having lunch at Le Cellier. This will make lunch ressies much harder to come by. :sad1:

Add me to your list of not happy my quiet lunch will no longer be quiet. I would love to see some menu changes.

Lunch may be harder to come by, but you have to consider that people on the regular DP may not want to waste 2 credits on 1 meal especially if the prices don't go up. Who wants to use 2 DP credits on lunch at Le Cellier? I would rather use it for dinner to get more value or not use it there at all and use the credits on 2 other restaurants that are only 1 credit each, so maybe it it won't be as busy.

If prices do go up, then people who are not on any dining plan and pay OOP would have to pay more than they did before and may choose not to dine there.
