I called the first week in November. I was told I would have card by Nov. 15. I called after the 20th to see what the deal was, they said I should have received, if it does not come within another week, call again and they will "cancel" the original redemption card and I can get a new one at WDW. So I called again last week, this guys says no they can't "cancel" the original but I can take care of it at guest services when I get to WDW.

I've never had this issue with a Disney VISA redemption before, and this is the BULK of our spending money for this trip.

Can someone who has done this assure me that we won't have an issue at guest services tomorrow?

Thanks for any info you can offer.

I pulled this off of page 31 of the rewards guide.

Q: What happens if my Disney Rewards Redemption Card is lost
or stolen?

A: Call Chase immediately at 1-800-300-8575 to report the loss of
the card. If you are at a Disney Park, you can pick up a new card
at an onsite location (call Chase for specific locations) and have
any remaining Disney Dream Reward Dollars transferred to the
new card. If you are at home, Chase can transfer any remaining
Disney Dream Reward Dollars onto a new card and mail it to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please remember that anyone in possession
of a Disney Rewards Redemption Card can use it. Any Disney
Dream Reward Dollars redeemed before you report the card lost
or stolen cannot be recovered.

Apparently they CAN cancel it. Call back and if you get flack, quote this. I would call and have the card they mailed to you cancelled, then just go by an onsite location when you get to WDW and get a new card.

For the future though, you could use a tip I picked up on the DIS - order a card a couple or three months ahead of time and have it charged with the minimum $20. When you get to the parks and are ready to use it, charge it up then. A lot less stressful.

Sounds like a whole bunch of incompetence on the part of the visa redemption crew. Im a pretty tolerant person of just about anything except incompetence. I hope you get it straightened out.

Thanks, on hold waiting for some answer, they don't seem to know what happened. Nightmare. I wrote down names of guys I spoke with, original redemption transaction number...amazing how I have gotten a different story from every one.

Because you were nice enuf to post that info, I called again and it is a mess, but better to know now than when I get to WDW tomorrow.

Sure enough, I've been fed nothing but lies for a month. Redemption was never assigned to a numbered card, it was never shipped altho two CS reps told me it was. They can see that my money is still mine, but they "don't know how to get it back to my account so it can be transferred to a card when I get to WDW tomorrow." So "hopefully" they will call me tomorrow afternoon.

I cannot believe this crap.

This happened to my wife a few years ago, never got the card after numerous inquiries and promises it was on it's way so VISA ended up credited her account with the dollar amount of her Disney Rewards.

Good luck, OP.

At this point I'd take the credit!

The guy I spoke with this AM said he's never heard of a problem like this. Right.

I'm a pessimist. I'd start hammering away online to Chase AND I'd call the reward center back and try to get my points back; I'd make sure I got names and some sort of call ID every time I started a call and if I didn't get it resolved I'd ask for a supervisor. If I got cut off, that would be another message to chase plus another phone call, and I'd make sure Chase knew how ticked I was AND that I was giving a blow by blow of my experiences to the biggest Disney-enthusiast message board on the 'net.

I've learned that it pays to be annoying and persistent. Squeaky wheels get the grease!

WE had something similar happen many years ago. We had to go to Guest Services at Downtown Disney. It was the only location available. They issued us a new redemption card. I remember it being some hassle to it too.

OR the weekend reps are pulling this new info out of their...pockets.

I *personally* wouldn't stress about this one more second, I would go to a Guest Services, and take care of it there. If there's trouble at that time, then stress about it.

Let me try to calm your nerves. This happened to me two years ago, it ended up being in the mail but not at my house in time for departure. So when I got to FL we went to Guest Services at The Magic Kingdom and they were beyond nice and it was such an easy fix. They saw my points had been transferred to the card and they canceled the redemption card and then issued a new one. It was so easy and was able to use the card within 20 minutes.
