Of course -- this morning my DS9 woke up with the flu (fever, headache, cough), and we leave tomorrow! Thankfully our flight isn't until the late afternoon, and with a lot of rest today maybe he'll be ok. And his fever isn't high--just 99.7.

We'll be taking it a lot easier, I'm sure, at the MK on Saturday. Oh, the best laid plans...

:( That's really crappy! I'm sure he'd rather be sick at disney than be sick at home though. Hope he gets well soon, and you all have a fabulous trip!!!! :goodvibes

Oh Btw, make sure he takes some psuedophed or something for the plane if he's congested. I had a terrible time with my ears when I wasn't sick, I can't imagine flying with the flu! :guilty:

I'm sorry to hear your DS is sick. I'll send you some pixie dust for a speedy recovery. :wizard:

Just have him make a wish to Tink. She works in mysterious ways.

Well hopefully it's just a cold and not the flu. Otherwise he may not recover fast enough. There is a cold that is going around that generally leaves body aches, a lot of sinus congestion, and a cough. We are seeing a least a dozen people a day at our office w/ it.

Here's tons of PD that he feels better fast!!!

i am so sorry that your son is sick....give him all day to rest and feed him good stuff....i bet tomorrow he will feel better...

Tjos could potentially be us too. We head down Sun morning to catch the early Mon direct flight, and so far in the last week, dd has been sick, dh has been sick, and my sis who's living with us has been sick (all of this is vomiting, diarhea, etc). That leaves my 2 boys and me. I'm really hoping if we are going to get sick it happens before we leave!
Hope he gets better before you leave!!

I'm sorry to hear that he has the flu. I remember one time we went to Disney & my brother had the chicken pox. Good thing all of us had it. :p Hope he gets better soon!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes! Reading them made my son smile, and he's feeling better, too! Fever is now gone (but I'm still going to have him take Tylenol through tonight) and he has eaten a bit and is drinking plenty of water.

Never underestimate the power of a mouse (and pixie dust, too!)!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2:

Airlines reserve the right to disallow sick people from flying. But if it is a child who is sick, the airline may have to refund the entire family's tickets particularly if there is only one adult traveling.

Not exactly kosher but many parents give their children enough over the counter drugs to conceal the sickness but not the contagiousness during the flight.

"Airborne" works wonders. I've given it to my dd when she's just getting sick and it got her better quicker. We also take one before the plane and after to prevent getting sick too. I got it at our local CVS.
Best wishes for a healthy and fun trip :wizard:

I hope he feels better!!

My DS got sick the day before our January trip. We took him to the Dr. to make sure it wasn't strep. Nope, probably just a virus. Great. Dr. went ahead and gave us a prescription for an antibiotic just to be sure it didn't turn into a sinus or ear infection while we were gone.

We had a 6:30 AM flight. When we got up at 4 AM he had no fever, felt fine. I carried the thermometer in my purse and took his temp at the airport. Still fine. Took it when we got to the resort. Fine.

Sometimes kids really do get "24 hour bugs" and they are fine the next day. Best of luck! Have a great trip!

I had this last week, my DD is still coughing and my baby's nose is still stuffy. I hope your DS feels better very soon and can enjoy his trip.

I hope your DS is feeling better. If it helps any we leave tomorrow too and DD has a tummy bug. She hasn't eaten anything all day and barely anything yesterday. She seems to be in good spirits but we are very afraid for the plane. Lots of trips to the bathroom ;)

I hope that your son feels better soon.

Kosher? This kind of selfishness is disgusting. Stuff like that makes me feel foolish for even bothering at all to be considerate of other people. They Risk passing a contagious sickness to an entire plane full of people, rather than interrupt their precious vacation?

Seashore, I am not attacking you for advocating the idea or anything like that. On a previous trip, I had something similiar happen to me. Luckily, it was at the end of the trip. (Not like getting sick is ever a good thing at any time) The instance was with the towncar driver who drove us back to the airport. The guy should not have gone to work that day, he was so sick. We didn't realize it until half-way to the airport.

Same problem here, two out of four of us going are sick!
Luckily, they've gotten over it for the majority and just have the cough leftover (and sniffles here and there)
