leaving tomorrow! NO place to stay!! Yikers!
I got southwest air tix a while back as I couldn't resist the $49. each way. We have only a couple of full days in FL as that's all we could squeeze in between DH being needed at work and the kids having to miss school.
If I were a real grownup I would have canceled the whole thing when my DD had school testing, but instead I just changed the dates. :tilt:
I had booked RPR thinking that we could do Universal for a day, then decided that we just need to rest and relax, not do the park thing. So I canceled RPR because we wouldn't need FOL and I didn't want the kids (or us) to be tempted or teased into heading to US IOA.
Then I was thinking that the Ron Jon resort looked nice and was worth the rate but decided against that because of a flight on Wednesday afternoon and I don't want to spend out time driving back and forth.
So what I have is flight tomorrow afternoon to Orlando, I did do a priceline for the first night and got the Renaissance. We have a flight home Wednesday afternoon. I have a rental car as well.
I need 2 nights of a newish upper end casual family friendly hotel, vacation club (or something) with an awesome pool with fountains, zero entry, fun for kids as we have 2 of them, and I don't want to spend more that $150 a night.
help!

If I was going last minute and had no place to stay, I would try Priceline. You'll probably get a good rate.

We stayed at the Residence at Sea World and really loved the hotel. It was a two room suite and we paid $99 per night. It had a free breakfast buffet, free afternoon pizza and soda by the pool and they put out some other snacks just before dinner. Don't know if they still have those things, but you could call and check, pretty common with Residence's tho. Plus you had a small kitchen, didn't use it though, but for the price we couldn't beat it. 2 queen beds in the second room.

Beautiful hotel, zero entry pool with sprinkler things(fish) squirting. My 3 year old loved it. Really nice play area, basketball area and a great pool bar that servered pretty good food. We stayed behind several days and just laid around the pool, very nice!

We stayed there in June of 2002 and it just had opened that March. Casual, but upscale, it is not your Super 8! :p Service was great. Easy drive to and from restaurants and if you get super antsy to hit the parks they all are within an easy drive. Longest was WDW at it was about 15-20 min. Sea World was about 5 min., you can see it from the higher floors.

Anyhow good luck and have a wondeful fast trip!

That residence Inn does look nice. Got a rate of 134 + tax for a 2 Q bed when I checked, but that includes breakfast. I wish the website had more pics.
I would do price line resort *, but I would probably end up with DTD Hilton and I really want a more interesting pool area.
I can't believe my indecisiveness this trip...AND I have to work tomorrow 7-3 (I haven't packed a thing either) . UGH!

That sounds like a fair price for the Residence @SW. I think it's worth that IMHO, but I'm sure others would argue that point. LOL

It worked out great for 3 adults and 1 child in 2002. We were going to stay there this Dec, but decided on a villa instead since we'll be in Orlando for 2 weeks this trip. We do love to stay on-site, but some trips we like to just be away from it all and I'd be too dang tempeted if I was too close! Heck I'm tempeted 20 minutes away. LOL

And the pool is very nice, not your typical square pool. Has a nice curvey shape to it, sort of like at AKL. I don't think it's quite that big though, was shocked at the size of AKLs pool last year when we stayed.

I can't believe you are planning this trip so fast, I usually decide on a trip to WDW about 6 months out and I thought that was cutting it close. LOL The fastest trip was planned 1 month out and I was stressing big time.

Well get to packing!!!! Have a great trip!

I just checked the Holiday Inn website and they are offering 2 BR kidsuites at HIFS for $134 per night and are showing availabilty for Monday and Tuesday nights. They get great reviews and have a fun pool area. Lots of amentiies.

Or check out Hotel Kingdom's website. They are showing 7 pages of hotels with various price ranges and stars.

Have a great time! I once planned a trip on Thursday and we left on Saturday (driving.) It was sooo great!

The tuesday before easter I decided to pack up the family & go to WDW for 3 days. At 6:30 I told them to pack quickly. I went upstairs on the cpu to find a hotel. I used travelocity, expedia, hotels.com & about 10 other sights. I found my best rates on travelnow.com. I got a hotel foe 44.00 per night. big, clean, but a ways down 192, near the convention center. But, the John Young parkway only took about 10-15 minutes, & I took a route not used by most. No 192 traffic nightmares. We left by 9:30 that night & drove 18 hours straight through. Had the time of our life! Try travelweb.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Hilton Grand VC at Seaworld has a king bedroom apartment for $129. I'm pretty sure that comes with a pull-out couch and separate seating area.

King bedroom suite at Grande Vista is $142, that's not bad.

just an update...
frantic searching last nite and a lot of marriott looking (Thanks!) led me to Horizons..booked a 2 bedroom for $157. Looks like it has a water park or a least a fun pool. Hope it is good!
