We have never used valet parking before. I know that we can pull up to the front door and unload on our own and bellhop will help us.....but , is valet parking worth it? We usually use our van for DD and PS at other resorts. We will be there for 10 days. How much would this service cost?

Sorry for such last min. questions but thanks for any replies. We have stayed at OKW with van before but this is 1st time at WLV with van.

Usually valet service is $6.oo per day, however if you are a DVC member you should be able to use valet service free of daily charges at DVC resorts, except for gratuity. We usually tip a dollar a bag when we arrive and leave at beginning and end of trip. We also tip 1-2 dollars each time we ask the valet to pull our car around and each time we drop it back off. It's totally worth it if there is an unusually long walk to the parking lot, or if you have a lot of passengers/strollers/bags, etc. Enjoy your trip! See you in EPCOT!:bounce: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc

For our stay during the end of August we used valet service every day. Just drop your car off at the main entrance, just tell the car attendent your DVC and that's it. No cost except a tip.

We also tipped on drop off and pickup but it sure beat walking out to the parking lot sometimes in the rain. We usually tipped 2-3 dollars depending on bags/ weather etc. At VWL the parking lot isn't that far awayfrom the villas but why walk and carry your bags when the resort offers the service. They have the air conditioning going for you when you get in. Beats getting in a hot car.

Enjoy your VAC. Just a point of info, you also can have free Valet service at any other DVC resort, such as Boardwalk, & Beachclub.
Of course OKW and SSR are park yourself.

We also use the valet service, and tip the same way;) . Most Resorts we went to for dinner, honored the DVC membership sign, even AKL, except the GF. My DH had discussed this matter with the valet manager of the GF, and explained to him that we had 3 other PS`s for Dinner during that week, and suggested to them, that they should consider all DVC members equal to the guests of the resort. At this point in time, it so happened there were 2 other guests waiting for thier cars, who felt the same way. My DH had mentioned that other guests visiting the GF, that are DVC members, might take another approach, and discontinue giving tips to the valet parkers, being a retired labor leader, he would definately not hope this would ever take place, that the working personell would have to suffer for management`s choices. To further the conversation, DH made a suggestion that this should be a priority, at the next transportation and valet meeting in respect to all DVC members.
Enjoy your trip!

I'm a valet addict, and I probably tip too much as well. Once in a while I will self park, generally when traveling with Lodge first timers. I find the anticipation as I approach the Lodge with unfamiliar guests to be exciting...

Holy smokes, am I corny or what?!?! :upsidedow

PS- Have a great trip!!!! :D
