After a week at WDW, we are heading home today. I just wanted to share with you all some of the things we observed, and perhaps can help you later on in your travels.

*We used Garden Grocer. Overall this service was good, but please make sure you tell them over and over again you are at Kidani. Our groceries were at Jambo house, which took a while to track down (not the greatest thing with hungry kids to feed). However, bell services here at Kidani were so helpful with getting them to us, it was barely a hiccup at all.

*The bus service was great! At Kidani, you are the first to board and the first to get off. So, it is likely you will get a seat to the parks. And, even if you have to stand on the way back to the hotel, at least you are the first stop!

*Our stay was during the week of Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Overall, I'd say the parks were more crowded than we expected in January. Every day we'd see large amounts of groups of teens from Brazil, as it is their summer there. There was also a cheerleading competition going on. Not sure I'd go this time of year again, but the weather was nice!!

*As for Kidani itself, the room was fantastic! We stayed in a 2BR dedicated villa, and it was just off the elevators. Our views of the savanna were great, and we were able to see all the favorite animals. To be picky a bit...the room wasn't the cleanest I've even seen. Some of the dishes looked like they had either food or dishwasher detergent residue left on them. The bathtub in the master bedroom had a bit of a tub ring, but nothing was too bad where we requested a new room or anything.

*Dining out is a bit of a challenge. We ate breakfast in our room every morning, which saved us both time and money. We didn't eat at Sanaa, but there is room service available at all times of the day. The small gift store in Kidani was very nice. The prices of food items was very reasonable. Frozen pizzas you would find in the grocery store for $6 were $7.99 at Kidani.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with Kidani as our home resort. We plan to stay at Jambo house this Thanksgiving, and I'm interested to see how staying there will compare. If AKL Villas are not your home resort, please consider staying at least once...you won't regret it!!

So sad I'm leaving...but off to one last meal at Boma for their amazing breakfast buffet.

P.S. If you are in a pinch, there is pizza delivery. It's with an outside restaurant and it was very good. Ask at concierge and they'll hook you up!

Do you remember the name of the outside restaurant that delivers pizza?

Thanks

This is great advice in general. Never ever say Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas without saying Kidani. We made that mistake at ME, and ended up having to get off the bus and wait for another one because a stop at Kidani was one too many over the limits placed on routes. It's best to think of Kidani as it's own resort, and then you can't go wrong.

I just got back from Kidani also and felt the same way, I thought the bus service was awesome never waited more than five minutes for a bus, we had bus mojo this trip, loved it!!!:woohoo:Of course we wish like everyone else that Kidani had counter service, but overall wasn't too bad. I have older kids, but we brought my 4 year old niece with us and that was my issue with counter service you just need it a little closer when you have young kids, if it was just my older girls with us would not have been a problem. I was little bugged by all of the Brazil tour groups had several issues, but still love to travel to Disney in January! Our room was very clean no problems with that and we also got the room location that we requested! :thumbsup2 We just loved this resort and we always saw lots of animals if you haven't stayed here you should try it out!!!

Can you let us know what the price of the breakfast buffet at Boma was. There is some discussion as to the price increase. Hope you can help.

Thanks for the report. I'm looking forward to my stay there in April :thumbsup2

When I stayed at BWV last month, several times when we came back to the room there were pizza delivery flyers slipped under our door. More than 1 different one. I had forgot about it but your comment reminded me. Kind of makes you wonder about security, I assume the pizza shops did it on their own.

Thanks for the postitive report! We're staying for the first time in August and we will also have a 2-bed dedicated SV!

When I was there in Nov. the adult price for the Boma breakfast buffet was $16.99. DELICIOUS. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your report. This is our home resort, we have stayed at Jambo once and this year it's Kidani's turn. I can't wait!

We own at KV and have also stayed at JH we like the KV pool better and like the counter service option at JH better.

When we stay at BWV, we usually have breakfast in the room but always do one trip to AKL for Boma's breakfast. Food is awesome and it's quieter without the characters.
