Leaving Iron Ons

Okay i know this is a weird question however...

I have dark iron on transfer papers, but i don't have a great printer at home. I would like to send them with my dad and get them printed... however i want to make the shirts when my friend comes over. Can you print the designs onto the iron on transfers and leave them for a while... or do you need to do the iron on process right away?

I have never done iron on transfers before... and i'm looking at doing 18 shirts... i'm a little skeptical but all the ones i have seen online look great... i have read the instructions in my pkg, but not quite sure...

You do not have to do them right away. A year or so ago, I was making 50+ tshirts and I did them over a month or so with no issues.
