Leaving in 6 days...Fun things for Kindergarteners

Hi,

We are leaving in 6 days and I have been trying to make a list of "special" things my kids may enjoy. This is what I have so far...Am I missing something?

Magic Kingdom
1. Go into Tink's Treasures to find Tink
2. Merlin's Sword ceremony
3. Storytime with Belle and AAA story time
5. Of course Character time!

EPCOT
1. Coke Station
2. Passports for countries and Masks
3. Mini Train in Germany
4. Maze in UK
5. Choc. Chip Cookie making
6. Fountains
7. Lighted walkway
8. Disney Visa Picture

Studios
1. Time with Characters
??????

Animal Kingdom
1. The sounds from the Kitchen at Tusker House
?????

Any Input on what your 5 year olds liked best that was a hidden gem would be great. I'll be sure to post my "findings" when we return!

At Animal Kingdom, our five year old granddaughter thought Flights of Wonder was a highlight. After the show, kids are welcome to go up to the stage and see the birds up close and personal.

Magic Kingdom--
Tom Sawyer's Island is a nice diversion

Epcot--
Innoventions has a place where you create a robot on a computer, then race with other creators, then you get to make a plastic robot(parents can assist)

Norway has a playground set on a ship

Coke station was giving out free tiny icees when we were there in coke and blue raspberry--good to get the nasty tastes out of your mouth.

In Japan, if you time it right, you can get an animal lollipop made by the notorious candy lady. Look at the guide to see when she comes out right after the Japanese drummers. Have your child stand very close to her cart(across from the drummers) during the drummer, in the front or on the sides. She will pick 5-6 children to choose animals and she will make a lollipop for them. Its pretty neat and free.

Animal Kingdom--

The Boneyard is a nice diversion in Dino Land

Enjoy the parade


DTD--

Go in Once Upon a Toy and create Mr Potato heads and My Little Ponies with all the different parts.

Have fun creating at the Lego Store and look at the gigantic lego creations outside.

Also, ask the conductor of the monorail if you can be a co-pilot. You may have to wait until a cab is not full(we waited 20 minutes) but it is so much fun. After you're done, ask for a co-pilot's license if they do not offer you one.

Walk around the resorts on the monorail line and look for hidden Mickey's or just look at the different resorts.

HI Kim,
I figured I throw my two cents in ...
when your in the MK, dont miss out on having them ride on the caruselle, they can look for Cinderella's horse, its the one w/ the golden ribbon...
Dont miss out on Mickeys toon town either.... they will love playing in the kitchen at Minnies house... and you can go into the big tent and meet all of them. Also, there is a little station set up that they can get there faces painted there. If you take the kids on the train or the tram the conductors always have the kids do something special.
In Epcot have the kids check out the candy making in Japan... yum! and visit guest services. The kids can walk away w/ a passport from around the countries.

Cinderella's horse has a gold ribbon! I will write that down....

Sleeping "judy" (In our house) send my DD a postcard and said her favorite had a pink ribbon and that is all she is talking about...

MGM - At the end of the Disney Animation tour, there is a huge meet and greet. DS 5 met Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, Tigger, Minnie (WITH NO WAIT), the two bad guys from Pinnochio. They left and they brought out Rafiki, Chip and Dale, Rabbit, Pooh, the Penguin from Mary Poppins and Baloo. The nicest thing was it was not crowded at all and it was AIR CONDITIONED.

Our two enjoyed the pressed pennies. While they are not free, the kids enjoyed looking for them, and creating them and now DD makes it a point to show them to everyone who comes to our house (even if they have seen them several times already) almost a year later.

La79al One question on the pennies....I read somewhere how to clean them before you leave so they shine - but can't find it. Also are pressed pennies 50cents? Want to make sure I have enough quarters with me. Or can I use a combo of dimes and nickles? And where do I find these pressing machines?

We did not clean ours, we used 2005 pennies. The ones we used that were older look about the same as the 2005 ones. Also, you will need 2 quarters and one penny per design. Most machines offer you 3 or 4 different designs but if you get the pressed penny book, we filled ours up doing mostly one design per machine. There is a list of machines floating around somewhere but I don't have it. We had no problem finding them once the kids got into doing them.

I just created an excell document so that we can go through the ones we have and mark the list so that we don't get duplicates. DS loves them and gets them no matter where we are.

Get one of those m&m mini containers and pack it with 2 quarters then a penny until it is full. Makes sure you are not scrounging for change when you find a machine.

In MGM, don't miss the street performers!!! These were soem of our favorites, and they are so much fun for little kids because they are so unexpected, and the kids can't really tell the difference right away (that they are not just regular tourists!!!)

Another fun spot in MGM is inside One man's Dream - little kids love looking at the models at the end of the exhibit.

We are leaving in 6 days too!! You got a lot of good suggestions on the parks already. One thing that you may want to consider is being a "driver" on the monorail. When you get in line, simply ask the CM if you can drive it. You don't actually do it, but you sit w/the driver. The kids would get a kick out of that. We're going to give it a try.

If you are planning to go to toontown fair, take the train around and plan to get there just before it opens. Our timing didn't work out so well and we were still one of the families that followed Mickey into his house and ended up being about 5th in line. Place was almost empty when we left about 30 minutes later, but when we stopped in there later in the day, it was packed.
