My DH, 14 month-old, 7 yr old, and myself are leaving for Disney in 10 days. What are the must pack items? We will be staying on site and plan on bringing our stroller, but I don't want to forget get anything. So, what are the must haves. I should note that my 14month-old is still using formula sometimes--we plan on switching to regular milk at 15 months. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks :goodvibes

we went when our kids were 6 and 11mos.

Infamil used to make individal serving sized formula packets. Bring them.

Also get Table toppers (I got mine at right start and BRU), they are sterilized mats that stick to the tables which make finger eating great for the toddler. Bring them.

Stroller rain cover. Use it every time you leave it unattended. In case you dont take this advice and come off a ride to a soaked stroller, disposable diapers work great for soaking up excess water (I learned this the hard way).

Cheapie rain ponchos for everyone else. The 7 yr old should be big enough for them, but just in case we tied our older son's in knots at the end to shorten them. By multiples in the same color for everyone. You can throw them out when your done and return the ones you dont use.

This is probably the perfect time to find one piece rompers for the toddler in clearence. They are very nice for baby in the heat. I even found some some at old navy that matched tshirts for my older son.

Hats. Sunscrene. Spray deoderant for your feet before putting on shoes. Pack-n-play sheets. ziplock bags.

I think one of the best things we did was buy those fan/spray bottles from Wal-Mart.My 18 month old and 3 year old would have been miserable without them.
I would also bring small snacks for inline. We bring fruit snacks or small packages of raisins.

The Avon sunscreen/bugspray towelettes are great for park use. It was nice to not have to carry the big bottle around.

Be sure to bring extra hats and sunglasses. We ended up buying 3 pairs of sunglasses in 5 days...and lost both the hats we'd taken along! I think next time I'd put strings on the hats...but my kids are older, I wouldn't do it for babies!

If you're going to let them play in the water around the parks, either carry an extra pair of shoes or be sure to take their shoes off before they get in the water. Soggy shoes and socks are no fun.

Take Dr. Scholls (sp?) foot cream...the kind that has a topical anesthetic in it! After a day of walking, it does wonders for the feet. Be sure to take moleskin or bandaid blister covers just in case!

If your kiddos have allergies, be sure to take some benadryl along. It's a good idea to have liquid Motrin and Benadryl with you just in case!

If they have favorite snacks, take them. Peanutbutter crackers were our staple when we went to WDW.

I took lots of wetwipes...you might take one baggie of wetwipes, one of sanitizers! There are lots of surfaces to be wiped down!

Hope you have lots of fun!

buy postcard stamps before you leave home. As you wait for shows or parades, have your older son write himself a note and drop it in the mail at your hotel. It will be a nice little journal of his trip.

Give him a disposable camera or to, too. My 9 year old came back with some incredible shots...things I never would have taken a picture of!

Be sure to take a toy from home for each kid...the hotel maids will make a cute little display each day of your stay. Let your son photograph this so you'll remember!

I'd strongly suggest buying a lanyard wallet before you go. I know Land's End sells them. They will hold your room pass, tickets, FPs etc. Things you need handy and won't want to have to dig to find!

WalMart and Target have water bottles that have clips on them...you can hang them from your belt if needed. Give your older son his own fanny pack so he can carry snacks for the day.

One suggestion...if your son has a favorite character you might have him write a card or send a postcard to the character telling him/her the dates he's coming to visit. It might score you some freebies, you never can tell. When we stayed at Movies they had a balloon bouquet and a "personally" autographed card from Woody and Buzz waiting for my son at check in...free! All because we'd sent a birthday photo from his Toy Story themed party along with a request to be placed in the Toy Story section.

Give your son a roll of quarters and a handful of pennies so he can collect squished pennies along the way. You can buy a book to store them in at the park, too.

It's really humid down there, so you might consider taking one of those 3 compartment containers that has a quarter-sized round lid on top. It will hold enough formula for 3 bottles. That way you won't have to carry a can. Another thought...this might be the time to "forget" about formula. I found that my older son was less resistant to change if it accompanied an adventure.

I found my kids enjoyed the parks more because they knew what to expect. If you don't already have Beach Party at DisneyWorld and the Campout video...and the Disneyland sing-along, get them and talk about what they show. Be sure to let your older son watch the free planning dvd a few times, too.

My younger son saw the gold Dumbo online and made up his mind it was a must-do. Luckily, we got to ride it! (By dumb luck...it was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and the line had to be an hour long...but it made his trip to have that little dream come true!)

Also, let your kids collect souvenirs along the way. We came back with 50th napkins, a tinkerbell popcorn box, and a variety of ticket stubs, postcards, etc. All of which I used in the kids' scrapbooks.

Hope some of that is helpful info!

We took our 11 mo twins last November. As far as formula went, we took snack size ziploc bags and put each "serving" of formula in one. They were much easier to stuff into diaper bags - esp since we never knew for sure how long we'd be gone each day. We brought water with us so we could "eat" whenever they decided it was time.

Also use the baby care centers in the parks! I was amazed by how nice they were there and it was a great place to wash out bottles and nipples. They have a whole "kitchen" area with a sink, dish soap, etc. That way we only had to make room for one bottle for each baby, instead of several. At MK the baby care center is right off main street. We were all camped out waiting for fireworks but the little ones were getting cranky from such a long day. It was great to have a nice homey place to take them for a diaper change and a little quiet time.

You'll have to let us know about your trip-- we are heading to WDW the last week of September with kids the same age! (First trip) DS7 and the baby (DS too) will be 15 months.

Have a magical vacation! :earsboy:
