Leaving Friday!!!! See Ya Later Tornados!!!

I am beyond excited!

We are finally leaving after planning our trip for 2 years! We will be driving from Moore, Oklahoma and wont's be back until 6/23. We will be staying in the Disney area for two weeks and going to Disney and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure for two weeks and then go to Siesta Key Beach for a week. This trip could not come at a better time. We are temporarily displaced due to the May 20th tornados in Moore, Ok. If you have been watching the news we live right across the highway from the Warren Theater that was damages and the Hospital and 7-Eleven that was destroyed. Most of our neighborhood is gone. We still have a house, but it is significantly damaged. Needless to say we have had a stressful week. So looking forward to this trip. I am thankful for my family though, All three of my kids schools were in the path of the tornado until it decided to veer off the course it was going. Its just now sinking in that I could have lost all of them. Looking for tons of pixie dust and magic on our first family vacation and 1st trip to Disney/Universal, and the beach. Please no hurricanes!!!

ENJOY! You and your family deserve a stressful couple of weeks. Broke my heart looking at pictues/videos of Moore. Unbelievable. Our thoughts and prayers remain with you and all your fellow Moore citizens. Have safe trip and enjoy the break from reality. Lots of hard work ahead of you once you get back home

I very proud of you to continue on with a 2 year old plan and not let 10 minutes of ugly weather change your trip. I would think that getting away from the area would give you some sense of calmness.

Have fun at both parks. Relaxing after a WDW trip is a great idea. Drive safe.

I have no idea what you have been through . I pray your town never goes through a storm like that one again. To the many that lost theirs lives especially the children my heart aches for them and their families.

I know exactly how you feel. I live in Tuscaloosa, AL and we had a horrific tornado in April, 2013, right before our anniversary trip. While very concerned about friends who lost everything but their lives, it was still good to get away from everything for a while.

We just got back on Saturday but there was plenty of magic left behind for you and your family to enjoy. Have a magical trip!

So nice to be able to go off and enjoy yourselves without worrying about the house. Hopefully the house is secured so it will be exactly the same when you return home.

Some of your neighbors who lost their homes completely may be better off not rebuilding, not having to negotiate with and watchdog the contractors.

You have cause to do the biggest happy dance there ever was!! As a fellow Moore resident (thankfully no damage here) I think Disney will be the BEST relief for your family. Enjoy yourself and come back renewed.
