Leaving for the Ship from Animal Kingdom?

I can't decide if we should go to Animal Kingdom on our last morning of our land/sea package. I read that buses leave from the Animal Kingdom to go to the Wonder. Has anyone done this? Have you experienced any problems? I'm a little worried about our luggage making it to the ship ok.

no matter where u stay , when we where there dont know if it changed or not since Dec. they took care of the luggage for us
we put our tags on it and off it went , we stayyed at the
Boardwalk because we r Disney vaction club members
and we had to get it over to the Beach club or the Yaucht club cant remember . any ways the worse that can happen if they will not do it for u is u get a cab to one of the pick up spots for dcl , brother inlaw in jan. went and they took him and his luggage
over to the swan and dolphin to meet the bus he was also at the boardwalk. good luck. no worries i dont know where u r stayying but u can get where ever u want , with little effort.

We were there in Oct/Nov 2001 and went to Animal Kindgom in the morning to have a character breakfast then off we went to the bus to go to the ship. I definitely recommend it if you want to get a breakfast in and some play time!! The hotel took care of all our bags and we checked in our "carry on" bags at the front before going into Animal Kingdom. I would do it again. Hope its helpful.

We left from AK in November and it worked great!! It gave us extra time to "do" other parks prior and NO problems with the luggage. We also got at the port in plenty of time to make all of our reservations and have a nice lunch! Have Fun!!

Thanks everybody for replying to my post. I feel so relieved by your responses. I guess I'm just a worry wart but you guys have put my mind at rest. I'm glad I asked and we're going to go enjoy our last day at the Animal Kingdom!

Don't forget to pack a small carry on with your bathing suites ( or wear them under your clothes). They will even let you check it when you get to AK to check in for the cruise. That way you can go right to the pool when you finish lunch and not have to wait for your luggage to arrive!! Enjoy!

But, how does one get from a resort to AK? I've never seen anyone on any of the busses with luggage. Is that done?

You have your luggage packed and ready in your room, they take care of it for you. You take the bus to Animal Kingdom and enjoy the day! Like Kritters4 says, make sure you pack your carry on and check it in at the front of the Animal Kingdom. They will hold it unitl you are ready to go to the busses. They will expalain absolutely everything to you.
