Leaving for College program with DD on the 4th!

jk1, I think someone figured I needed one more snow. My daughter will be working in cast deployment when we go down. She is looking forward to it.

DS says his College Program Graduation is tomorrow. Time is running short for him. He will leave Jan 3rd and that is a blink away.

I have to say I am very proud of him as to how he has approached and taken this opportunity and made it a great experience.

YesDear, congrats on the Prince's graduation. I bet he looks back on this fall semester and feels like the time flew! I hope he is able to stay on as casual seasonal. Perhaps he'll be back working over spring break? Is your wife feeling better? I hope so.

Safetymom, your time is almost here! Good luck on the new home paper signing. And I wish you a smooth moving process. I do hope to get to meet you over the holidays when I am at WDW.

He says he wants to be the campus rep at NC State. He has also been told he can stay on as casual seasonal. He is talking about spring Break!!!

He said Graduation was fun! He has Mickey ear with tassles!

Safetymom, I am leaving tomorrow for WDW will send you a PM with cell #s etc.

DW and I have had serious bout with what I call the monkey crud. Dr said it was not the flu but I could not tell the difference. DW tried to go back to work last week and they sent her home! Yesterday she went for about 3-4 hrs. This makes 2 weeks for her.

You know she was sick when she talked about cancelling Christmas with her only son at WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter enjoyed her time as campus rep back in PA. She is still going to function as a rep this semester also greeting her recruits from back home when they come down.

I also know from first hand experience about the monkey crud. I had that about a week before we moved. It was not fun!!!!!

Hi everyone...... Marla Here! Well, DD graduated from the program on Thursday, and guess what......... she is extending and auditioned to be a character....... and she got it! We were so thrilled because she wanted this so much. We are going to be at DW from the 22nd to the 29th.(leaving in the morning of the 29th.) How about meeting one evening at Downtown Disney...like some of us did back in the summer. We need to exchange phone numbers to contact each other when there. When we arrive, we are helping DD move from present location to her new apartment. Very exciting! Anyway, if you are in for a visit.......... respond soon. Marla, that is great news about your daughter! Tell her congratulations for me.

Unfortunately, I will miss you at WDW. Although I check-in 12/28, we have the Candlelight Processional reserved that night. Now if you are meeting up that night after 9:30pm, I can make it then!

If not, have a magical time at WDW. Since your daughter has extended, maybe we will see each other at WDW sometime during the spring semester. I will be down for a week in March when my daughter works spring break.

What a site. DW, still not up to snuff from the crud, her mom, my dad's wife and a friend of DW's mom are all here riding around on ECV's! We call them the buggy brigade. I am not saying this a production, but we can call disney busses and they send a special one for this calvecade!! Watching the four of them in procession is a trip!!! JUST STAY OUT OF THE WAY!!!!

JK1 The people at Randy's say hi! I just hope we do not get a special power bill from charging these things!!!

We are at the Magic Kingdom and DW hears a familiar voice. Who is it but Marla.. Got to meet her DD and DS and DH.

DS has to work tomorrow and Christmas Day. Still cannot believe the snowbirds that get in the pool in 50 degree weather!!!

JK1 When you have one ecv you are just a face in the crowd. When you have four in a row it is a force to deal with. We got many stares and looks. All of the buggies are the same color! Christmas red!

My public appologies to Safetymom. She called me yesterday to meet and the buggy brigade kept me hoping! They all leave tomorrow and DW and I have decided to stay until Sat. So hopefully we can do an early evening DTD!!!!

Sorry once again to all we did not get to see at Christmas. The buggy Brigade turned into quite the experience and challenge! We did not get everyone off until past 11:00am on the day after Christmas.

We had to go to Epcot to exchange a present in Norway for DS and went and had lunch with him. Checked into CB and the checkin line was the longest I had seen in years. Met DS after work to load things in our car for his overflow!

Thanks JK1 for calling us to let us know you were coming early. Just wish we could have stayed an extra night. Probably a good thing we did not. DW started going backwards on her recovery about 2 days after finishing her medicine. SHe has gone back to the doctor and now is on 5 medications. I know she is tired of feeling bad!

Safetymom and Soonerkate thanks for trying to get with us while we were there!

DS has said this week has been sad and bittersweet for him. He is off today, works tomorrow and leaves on Saturday. Several other CP'ers left this week and each one gets thrown in the pool their last day! DS has had a blast! I think he will miss it more when he gets home!

I asked DW if she was just going to pack her bags in about 6 weeks and sit by the door? I bet she tries it!

Long live this thread and thanks to Miramatt for starting it. She gets to keep it up since her DD has extended. Boy... go back and read the first few posts! Who would have thought it!!!! LOL

Not trying to revive this thread but just wanted those that were followers of the the excursion of the summer Disney College Program Crew to know that The Prince of Thieves is one of the newest Campus Reps for North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Needless to say he is stoked.

And yes, for those who are curious he is freezing being back in the cold weather. We had several days of snow and ice that is not commom for us and he would not even go out in it!!! LOL

Hope those that extended their program are doing well and we will be at WDW the first full week of March. That is spring break and DS says he is going to back to work for the week as a seasonal. SO you know DW has the perfect excuse to have her disney fix.

On another note, for those that love Disney and have not gone to Roy Disney's site, you need to check it out at www.savedisney.com

How in the world did you ever find this thread again? I bet you have it bookmarked, huh? Anyway, I'm glad you found it.

Congrats to your son for becoming a campus rep. And I don't blame him one bit for not wanting to go out in the snow and ice! I have heard all about it from my daughter as this is the first winter in 3 years that she has been home! She even tells me her car doesn't like this weather. LOL

How is RWEThereYet? Has she recuperated from her long-staying illness? I hope so.

My daughter and I will be headed to WDW for spring break and a week of working for her, too. Unfortunately, our spring break is the week after yours. We do however, fly in on Friday, March 12th. How long will you be staying? Keeping my fingers crossed that we have an overlap.

Jackie, we are scheduled to check out of Old Key West on that Friday, but I bet I can find me a room somewhere to stay a little longer. I will not be in a hurry to return home, especially if the weather is nice.

I am pretty much over all the diseases/maladies that I had in December. However, I did have me a nice fall on the ice last week. Have the bruises to prove it, but that is nothing compared to my December. It is really nice to be feeling better again.

I plan to continue to pop those vitamins and stay healthy for the next month. I am wondering if this will be my last trip as a Cast Member with all that is going on with the Disney Stores these days. Sad, but something I have to consider.

We will work in the direction of getting a room for Friday, and will keep you posted.
