Leaving before MNSSHP - strategy

We will not be staying at MK for MNSSHP - planning to leave with the masses prior to the party around 6/6:30. We are staying at VGF.

Would it be worth it for us to walk to the Contemporary (grab a bite at Contempo) and hop on the monorail there rather than deal with the monorail lines leaving the park?
