Yesterday I took the baby in for her four month check up. She just started with a cough the night before, a little one. We were expecting it since the rest of the kids seemed to have one on and off for the last week. We'll he says she's got a viral bronchitis (I listened to her lungs and couldn't hear anything
, I must be losing my touch), so he put her on anitbiotics. Well her cough got worse over night and now I have four more kids hacking up a lung this morning. I hate putting them on antibiotics and I'm not sure if I should be taking them to the walk in clinic. My Dr. was able to get two in today (the one with asthma and the one with a fever) so I guess I'll see what he has to say. I'm assuming if it's viral though that it should pass without antibiotics.
The next problem is my Dr said to ask behind the counter for a decongestant for the baby and the toddler (who currently has a mild cough). I told him they pulled them from the market and he said that they still have them behind the counter. I went to two different pharmacies and they both didn't have any. Now I don't know what to give them for the flight. He said that they will need a decongestant to fly since they have the extra mucous they will experience a lot of discomfort without anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I think before next trip I will up our isolation window to two weeks instead of just one
