Leave drinks in car?

I have read on previous posts about not leaving food in your car while you are gone. So, now I need to know if it would be ok to leave Cokes in your car? (btw, we are going in December...) Just wondering if it will be too hot for canned drinks...

I wouldn't, just in the off chance that they exploded and that definitely WOULD attract the ants.

Your seats would melt before canned soft drinks would explode. The real problem is Nutrasweet/Aspartame (in diet Coke etc.) could go bad in the high heat (turn into formaldehyde and diketopiperazine) over time.

We left some in the car in an otherwise empty cooler. We brought a cooler of ice off the ship with us, dumped it in the other cooler and voila....cold drinks without an extra ice/soda stop on the way home.

Shirley, that is so nice of you to offer to store our drinks! Not many people would do that. It isn't that big of a deal, but I am just trying to plan what to take for our 2 yr old dd, without having to make a grocery stop on our 1st day back to the World.

Thanks again for the offer! These disboards are great! (well, let me modify that...the disboards ARE great, but the diser's are THE BEST!!!)

We left a grocery back of snacks, a couple 12-packs of Vanilla Coke and Diet Coke, and a box of bottled water in the back of our Blazer last month when we took our Magic cruise. Never had a problem. Probably wouldn't do it during the hot summer months, though.
