Am I the only one sick of how the media is treating her? She didn't do anything wrong!! All she did is state her opinion- in a very polite manner!! I don't understand why they continue to pick on her!! She seems very nice by the interviews I've seen. I hope the lawsuit she made goes through- maybe then they'll stop picking on her.

What are your thoughts on this? :confused3

Personally I think it's "much ado about nothing". Not sure how you think people are picking on her? She is a public figure, sure she stated her opinion but when you do that in the media, you have to expect a backlash.

If she thinks she has been wronged then by all means sue but I doubt she's losing much sleep over it except to think about the money she lost.

Truthfully, I have no idea who or what you are talking about.

I don't follow pop culture much and generally don't care one whit about who said what.

Who is Carrie?

LOL exactly

Carrie Prejean, she's the Ms. California contenstant in Donald trumps beauty pagent who said she was against gay marriage. A lot of people think she lost the pagent because of her answer.

Personally, I think she's a dolt, and this whole lawsuit business is all about her trying to keep herself in the spotlight.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I kind of agree.

I completely disagree with her viewpoint. I abhor her viewpoint. But I absolutely believe she's entitled to hold it. And it wasn't like she was out parading up and down the street with it. She was directly asked. Put on the spot in front of an audience.

She stated her position as gracefully as she could--the most graceful way some can explain they're a bigot, anyway.

But, my point is, there was no way for her to "win" in that situation. She was faced with either lying about her viewpoint or being villified for it. I suppose she could have refused to answer, but I can't blame her for not coming up with that on the spot while she was trying to win a pageant.

The question should never have been asked in that forum. Frankly, I think Perez Hilton behaved inappropriately.

I put plenty of blame for this at Mr. Hilton's feet, but as for what happened afterwards, I don't think anyone has done anything wrong. I wouldn't want her representing my organization, and I don't see anything wrong with people reacting to what she said either.

I don't think she's being "picked on". She's being held accountable for expressing a belief a lot of people find wrong. I just think she should never have been asked the question during a beauty pageant.

She must not be very famous if I don't know her by "Carrie."

Always nice to be accused a bigot when voicing a Christian opinion.

Well said. :thumbsup2

At first I thought she was talking about Carrie Bradshaw. I was wondering why someone was getting so upset about a fictional character.

I agree with everything you posted and especially with the part about Perez Hilton. He's a skank and was trying to cause trouble.

My thought was that it was about Steven King's Carrie!:rotfl2:

Now that I've figured out who Carrie is....IMO, she expressed her opinion when it was asked. She had a right to it. She tried to express it as tactfully as she could under the circumstances. Now she is being harrassed by judgemental, close-minded people who don't believe people are allowed to have opinions that differ from their own.

Carrie Prejean was very unfailrly villed in my opinion.
She stated an opinion when asked completely unexpectantly, gracefully, and as nice as possible.
I do not share her view at all but I think it is very sad what she has had to go through.
