Least Kid Friendly

1) It is not illegal.

2) Very possibly.

As a mother of a 2&1/2 yr old I cant imagine my going to a restaurant at WDW or home that I would have my ds sit for more than 2 hrs. I wouldnt be enjoyed by any of us. I did make ADRs for our upcoming trip at Boma, Lecellier,Coral Reef, San Angel Inn, Mama Melrose and Marakasheh(sp). I also have planned ADr times no later that 6pm. DS has been dining at nice restaurants since he was very young but he is still 2 yrs old.

As I read over this thread today, I just want to step in here for a minute and note that I don't feel Mackey Mouse was trying to shut down this discussion as noted by some posters. Here on the Dis, as moderators, we encourage discussion of all topics.

This particular topic caused a great amount of controversy very recently, resulting in many problems on this particular board. I believe that is the issue Mackey was referring to that she did not want to get into again. And as noted she was happy to agree to disagree on the subject and leave it at that without causing any problems based on her opinion. Just my 2 cents.

Please feel free to continue this discussion as long as it can be done according to Dis Board Guidelines. :)

I don't think it is an issue of children being in the dining establishment... I think it is an issue of the parents of some of these children. I know that by going to Disney World that there will be kids and I won't whine and argue about that... duh, it's Disney lol! However, just because it is a vacation does not give the parents a right to allow those kids of holler and scream during dinner.

Kids get tired and cranky and will get loud and cry, it is their way of getting it across... but some parents do not take it upon themselves to deal with the situation. Yes, kids get bored and antsy... but that does not mean the parent should allow them to run around and under tables bothering other diners. When this happens, I do make a comment to management about it. My dinner should not be interrupted because some kid feels the need to run around the table and hitting my chair or crawling around under the table.

So, there wouldn't be an issue if the parents would make their dining decisions based off of their children and how they can act during a sit down meal. There also wouldn't be an issue if when the kids get out of hand if the parents would step in to stop it.

Then again, discussing this does little good here... I doubt the parents on this board would be the ones I am talking about lol. Nope, the parents on here would know what they need to do to keep the bad things from happening. Too bad we can't get the word out to the ones who need it.
