Learn from my mistakes - getting around

I've been a member here for quite some time and we've been to WDW many times with the advice garnered from disboarders. That said, I goofed big time this last trip!!

DH and I had 2 different ADRs and an appt at GF Spa while staying at BCV. I thought I had allowed plenty of time to catch our buses and get to our destinations on time but NOOOOOOO! Totally goofed and missed buses right and left. Amazing how those 20 minute spreads between buses seem like forever....

Our ressies at CG were honored even though we were 15 min. late and they accomodated us at AP even though we were an hour early.

The GF Spa was amazing in rescheduling us from the morning to the afternoon! Bless their little hearts.

When making transfers, folks, learn from my mistakes - think through the connections and allow plenty of time. We had monorail failures and long bus waits. Thankfully, DH was very patient as this was our anniversary trip.

On several occastions, he reminded me to post a message on "that board thing you read." This is for you, honey!!

We always rent a car for precisely that reason. There were a couple of near missed ADRs and it just made me too nervous.

Not a goof. The bus did not have a published (in writing) departure time.

When planning trave time you should allow for just missed connections. If you are just traveling from park to hotel you migh want to add 15 minutes to you travel time. If you are going hotel to hotel add about 30 minutes... 15 for just missing the bus at the hotel and another 15 for just missing the bus at whateve park you are transferring at.

I think I am going to be depending on some Taxi's...I like having the option. If we have gotten a good start, and are on time-taking busses, but if it seems close, I am not hesitating anymore and just asking for a taxi.

Thats why we also do a rental. For the ADRs and store trips.

We enjoy the Buses on most days and don't worry about hard times but for the ADRs and such you really need to be ahead of the game at busy times.

When going from resort to resort using Disney transportation you should allow at least 1 hour.
