Leanne & Andy's Escape Wedding - 17/05/2011 We're married! - Disney pics now in

Hi just joining in!!
I figured you must be from the UK when you said about the Robbie concert!! I love Robbie too!! Then when you said about the dress being £600.00 you confirmed it!! Where are you from? It's so nice to have another DisBride from the UK.
Love the dress and will be eagarly following your plans!!

Hi Tinkerbell.

Yes your right I'm from the Uk we are in Nottingham. Where are you based.

Not much of an update - just waiting to hear from Disney as to whos our planner and for them to send us our planning pack.

Have started thinking about invitations and colours. I sent off for some pocketfold samples which came today from a company called olive. Unfortunely the samples they sent are way to small so glad i didnt order a load. I'm going to order another load from Pocketfold.

Have also started to look at flowers whilst we are waiting for disney. I think i want to use calla lilys and maybe some unusual flowers to go with them (have collected a load of pics from various places). I sort of thinking my be a dark bouquet.

Love the flowers! Especially calla lilies. I was actually just thinking about flowers today. All those bouquets look so nice!

Just another small update - we've now booked Randy as our photographer. It was a really hard decision as there are some great photographers out there. Randys work is always consistent and adventourous and his prices are really good so that was a bonus.

Now anybody who knows us would know OH hates going shopping (its a man thing i think) so i knew today would be a pain. We've decided to go suit shopping for OH. Because we are in the UK we looked at hiring suits here. OH wanted to have his suit sorted before we go. Knowing our luck there would be something wrong with it if we hired it in the states and as we get there on the friday before our wedding we thought it doesnt really leave us enough time to sort things out if the suit didnt fit properly.

So we started to look into getting them in the UK. What we didn't realise was originally we would have to pay a suit hire charge for the whole stay of us being in the states which once we started adding it up it would be cheaper to buy a suit than hire one which we now are doing.

Unfortunely OH is worse than any bride choosing a dress - the amount of suit shops we have been in today and still its not right. Oh well another weekend suit shopping next week. We have sort of narrowed down a couple but have now got to find a suit for my little boy to match which is a challenge in its self.

On the bleak side of things i've still not got a planner assigned even though disney took the cash out of my bank some time back. I chased Kristi at the beginning of the week and she said our planner should be in touch in the next few days but not heard anything as of yet - dont they realise how us brides are rearing to go and dont wont to be twidderling our thumbs. Hopefully next week we should get to know who our planner is.

Wedding rings - Well whilst we were shopping for suits i dragged OH round a variety of Jewellers. I've seen what i want so it was choosing something for him. Again a nightmare OH cant decide on what he wants. So this is going to take some time.

Right i'm now off to look for shoes for me - hopefully that will be more productive.

Hi again and I am in Cumbria - between Penrith and Keswick. Yay for booking Randy - we have him too!!
Your story is very similar to mine regarding the suits. We wanted DH to have his suit sorted before we arrived too and we also have an 11 year old lad to match up with him (youngest son) and my other son (20) too. We trolled and trolled shops and in the end plumped for boring black as it was the only way we could have them all looking similar. We plan to 'jazz, them up a little with ties to match DDs MOH dress.
Good luck with all the shopping!!

Hi Leanne!!

Loved your story and your dress is GORGEOUS!!! I see that you are booked the day after mine and DF's wedding!! It's so exciting to meet another bride who will be getting married the same time as us! Where will you be staying while there? We signed our contract on October 4th and have yet to receive our AP's and hard copy of our contract in the mail. I am getting very impatient!!!

Can't wait to read about your planning!!

Hi Jess

Thanks for the compliments. Funny enough i was only thinking last night we should of booked the 16th as there was more going on that day at mk. I was considering changing the date but as i now know that you have yours on that date i wont.

We are booked in to stay at coronado springs even though i might change to GF for the 16th and 17th to make it easier on the day. Where are you booked in?

I would chase disney on your contract as Kristi told us that there systems went down at the beginning of oct and that a few peoples contract has never got sent out. Ours was one of them typically, luckly i chased otherwise i bet we would still be sitting here with not even a contract signed. we've not had AP yet but at the moment i'm not bothered about that i would rather be assigned the planner and get things in motion. Hopefully we might hear this week on who that is.

Hi All

Well today after cleaning the house and picking up kids toys i though i'd sit down for two minutes and try and plan some wedding stuff as time seems to be flying by and we havent really done anything.

We're still so undecisive on what to do for a reception etc - doesn't help that we still haven't heard from disney on who our planner is and its over three weeks since they took the money out of my account for the deposit. (May be its us being impatient - just thought we would of least known who we were going to be working with) Anyway must say thanks to dolly as if it wasnt for her posting a link on another thread for a website i probably wouldn't of thought about doing this - so thanks dolly!

Anyway back to my ramberlings as i say i had a spare two minutes (well it turned into all afternoon) so i was browsing this website and came across a wedding that sort of had like a masquerade theme. This got me thinking about what we were going to do once we had done a meal. I sort of thought may be do a desert party at Fantasmic but needed to speak to a planner about it more to find out more eg menus etc.

Well anyway i saw this wedding pics etc and it seemed like a really interesting idea. So i thought why not do a reception at someplace downtown disney then do Cirque for afterwards. We've got family members who havent been to the states before and have never seen anything like this. Plus i still get to keep wearing my dress.

So i thought for table decorations we could supply all our guess with colourful wacky masks and then i spotted these favors idea which i thought quite nicely fits.

What do people think? do you think it could work as a theme? or is it creepy? I've still got to run it by OH as we have already been and seen cirque the last time we were in the states but we didn't take the kids.

Not sure how it would work on invitations yet will need to think about that aspect to if we did go with this idea.

I just don't want the family to OD on disney as we are there for quite sometime and i know some family members arnt really into disney at all (each to their own i guess). I still think you could combine the two just in a more subtle way.

These were the favors that sparked my imagination.

I've just found these fans on the internet which are keeping with the theme.

Lovely fans!! Do you mind sharing the site you got them from?

Well tonight i was in the middle of dishing up tea when i got a phone call. At first i thought it was one of those phone calls where someone is trying to sell you a kitchen or something - i was just going to say no thankyou when i heard the magic words 'disney'. It was our planner just introducing herself. Her name is Tanya Armstrong. Anyone else had her and what she like?

After a few minutes of chat she asked if their was any thing she could help us with right now so i thought after reading a few pj i thought i better book us in for the mk bridal photo shoot. Can you believe that they are fully booked up in may. She told us there was only the one date available which is the 19th may luckly thats a few days after our wedding. she couldn't believe how busy they are going to be so for any brides out there who are thinking of doing a shoot then my advice is book it now dont think about it otherwise you may not be able to get a date at all.

Well after finally getting out planning pack we decided to sort out our officiant last night. After reading loads of PJ's we decided to book Rev Jack Day. I must say he sounds lovely in his emails and he was quick to reply, which we wasn't expecting.

So were now pencilled in with him. Did anyone do a practice run? we were just wondering if we needed to or not?

Well me and OH still havent choosen somewhere to have our reception i think i've sort of decided with either doing it near the WP so somewhere in the GF or we do it at one of the restaurants at downtown disney. we've have decided to take all our guest after a meal to see Cirque de soleil rather than doing a dessert party. Hence the cirque theme that we're going with

so with that in mind i was looking at ways we can jazz the reception up a bit. I found these really cool vases that light up that would make excellent centre pieces.

We've also decided to give all our guest a mask so that will contribute jazzing up each place setting as well. Hopefully it will be fun and make some interesting pics.

Here are a few wedding table ideas as well that would fit our theme.

I also like this cake but not sure if disney could do anything like it. I was sort of thinking may be do the top tier to be like made of feathers then the bottom to be something to do with disney so may be icons or something.

Anyway thats all for now.

LOVE IT ALL! It looks great! Reading the descriptions dont do it justice...it is GORGEOUS!! I cant wait to see it all turn out at your wedding! So exciting! Keep the awesome ideas flowing, youre on a roll! :woohoo:

Love all the feathers!! I think the 'Cirque' idea is great too!!

We are staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter from 5/14-5/21. DF's parents will be staying at Coronado! What a coincidence!

I emailed our planner last week and I guess that did the trick! This past Wednesday we received our finalized LOA along with our AP's via certified mail! I was pretty much jumping up and down when the mailman arrived!

Hope your planning is going well!!
