We are thinking of giving Le Cellier at EPCOT a try this August. Has anybody been? I had a look at the menu and it looks very good - but from the photograph's I saw it looked a bit dark and not very well themed inside.

Anyone have any views? :confused3

Thank you!

We have never been, but heard so may rave reviews that I made a PS this morning for 30th July for evening dinner. Wev really wanted to try different places this time as we always go to the same places, I'm hoping it's as great as the reviews, good luck with making your decision.

We had our best meal on WDW property at Le Cellier...absolutely loved it!

It is a little dark in the restaurant, but the theming is a Canadian Wine Cellar, so thats to be expected. We were there at Christmas, and it seemed cosy to us, rather than gloomy.

We cant wait to go back in October!

one of our fave restaurants! The pretzel breadsticks and just yummy!!

Oh and be sure to have the chocolate "mousse" for pudding!

Excellent food, it is a little dark inside the restaurant, but that is the themeing and it also gives a nice break from the glaring heat and sun in summer.

Frances I am too late here but just wanted to add that we had a fabulous meal here in December. I found the toilets a little - 1980s, shall we say? ;) And the theme is a little dark but not in an inappropriate way. I'll dig out my Trip Report and post it here for you.

Found it :)

First impressions of Le Cellier? I see why it’s called this. Le Cellier being French for cellar. It is very dark but cosy with candlelight effects. The décor is nothing outstanding and for some reason I am left with the overall impression of the nineteen eighties. Our server, who is called Lisa and is the best of the entire trip, gives us an extremely friendly welcome! She explains we are seated in the Ontario section, which I think is pretty cool as this is where my mum was born. The food here is absolutely fantastic. The presentation is superb and the tastes and textures amazing. We will return here without a doubt.

As we finish our meal in record time we decide to get out of Epcot as quickly as possible and beat the mass exodus before Illuminations ends, so we leave the park with the fireworks as our backdrop. A fantastic end to a fantastic day!

It looks wonderful, Karen -- thank you for digging out your report :)

What exactly is in the 'Smores? It looks delicious!

Frances luckily I have my DD Amber here who had it ;) and she describes it like this:

Fruity syrup on the bottom of the plate (the red and green you can see). Then a Graham Cracker (like a Digestive) coated with chocolate. Then a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with another Graham Cracker with chocolate and baby marshmallows on. The big thing at the top was a marshmallow again coated with hundereds and thousands.

Amber's verdict was 10/10!!

Thank you, Amber! What a great description - it sounds delicious.

I think my DS's and DD would like it (and me too! :teeth: )

Frances I must confess when I saw it I lost interest in my Creme Brulee ;) LOL

You are very perceptive. LC is good, but I don't think it's a must do at WDW.

The restaurant is small (compared to WDW terms) and is dark with no real decor referencing Canada (or maybe I'm wrong).

We went there for the first time a few weeks ago, with friends that love it. The service was slow and the server had difficulty with our drink orders. The meal also was very slow getting to us, but we were a party of 8.

I had a filet and a lobster tail as the main course. Also, there is no "formal" bar, so wines and beers are their specialty.

I prefer Jiko, CA Grill and Spoodles to LC.

I hope this helps.
