We Leave for our trip back to DW on September 5th. This is our first time using the free meal plan. I made all my ADR's early. Since then, people have been telling me some great things about Le Cellier. I tried to get something for Sept.7 or Sept. 10 for dinner. Of course nothing was available at this late date. I was wondering if anyone else has gone during free dining to Le Cellier as a walk in?? I'm sure it is a long shot but I figured I would ask. On the bright side I did get a reservation for Boma which I didn't expect to get. We are a party of 7 so I felt lucky to get it at this late date. Either way can't wait to go back!:mickeyjum  princess:

can't really imagine you could walk in with a party of 7 at Le Cellier. This venue books months in advance. Try the concierge desk at your resort, maybe a lunch? Good luck!!

We were there a few weeks ago, during bounce back and UK free dining and never saw anyone at any restaurant getting in as a walk up. I don't want to rain on your parade, but I highly doubt you would be able to get a one for Le Cellier. It doesn't hurt to keep calling everyday before you leave to see if anything opens up though... Le Cellier is wonderful :thumbsup2

Check our my dining review from our trip, which includes both Boma and Le Cellier. Link is in signature.

Have a great trip!

When we were at Le Cellier in Nov 2006 and were waiting for our name to be called ... a man walked up and asked about walk-in (just for 2!). None available that night ... he said "how about tomorrow?" and the hostess said. "I'm sorry sir but we are booked up until February!" :scared1:

So ... no harm in calling as another suggested but I doubt walkup for 7 would be successful.

Have fun anyway! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I am afraid that your chances are slim to none, especially with 7 people. I have never seen anyone get in walkup at LeCellier even when it wasn't free dining...it books months in advance. Someone posted the other day the CM they talked to told them they are booked solid until January...your only hope is a cancellation and really lucking out to get there at just the right time.

Edited to add: Just saw the message before mine and it says February...that's two people reporting the same thing so I am guessing they're pretty full ;)

However, I have heard they add all the previous day's cancellations into the system at 7 am...so if you call back at 7 am (Florida time) every day and check, maybe you will luck out. Good luck!

Le Cellier is an extremely popular restaurant, I doubt you'll get a table without an ADR.

Sorry. :(

I agree with all the previous posts. We had an ADR for Le Cellier when we were there in January, and even with our reservation we still had to wait a good 40 minutes to get seated. During our wait I saw several walkups turned away. Some of them were quite persistant, and I told the CM at the podium I really felt for her. She told me that due to the popularity of their restaurant, they were used to telling people no.

We always book at the 180 day point, love this Resturant.

Walk ins are difficult to come by at any restaurant during free dining. You could try these methods...
1. Try booking for lunch instead
2. keep calling back to see if anything opens (in case anyone cancels)
3. You can always walk up anyway and ask...but realize that for a party of 7, the answer will most likely be no (it's hard enough for parties of 2 to get walkins).

Le Cellier isn't the easiest of places to book. We're leaving in 2 weeks and I booked Le Cellier back in April for dinner...and for the date we have for it, only two time slots were left (and that was when I was booking in April!).

Welcome to the Dis,you have a good question.I think the experts on this board can give you solid information to your question.:goodvibes :goodvibes

When we went in Feb, during slow season, walk-ins were being turned away, they were told that they were all booked up for the week!!!

But, it never hurts to try, you just never know. But, I wouldn't get my hopes up in getting it.

i would go to the rest. as soon as world showcase opens and see if they can fit your party in...you never know.

I have tried to walk up for the last 2-3 years, at least once each trip. We got down 3-7 times a year.... never got in.
I don't usually make ADRs, but the last trip, end of July, and this trip, starting this Sat, I did so.
I called every other day, for about a week. I started about 10 days ago. On the 4th day or so I had 2 days to pick from for Le Celliar!!! Sept 3 at 8:40 or on the 5th at 8pm! I was shocked! I grabbed the sept 3, even with it being at least 1 1/2 hours latter then we ever eat!
I am going to call back this morning, and/or tomorrow to see if I can get a better time...this sounds like a good plan to me!
Last trip I also called a few weeks befor the trip and got B'fast at the castle, for 9am! I also had a few time choices for that.

I have been told that about at 3-7 days out some people start to cancel their "extra" ADRs, or at least the nice ones do, that have booked double.

We were just at Le Cellier and were waiting for our table when a large party walked in without ADRs. He said, how about tomorrow? The hostess said they are booked until Christmas. The man had no idea about ADRs.

Later that night we saw the same family headed into Bierhgarten, they turned right around and walked back out.

I guess they do not know about The Dis!

Alternatives with good steak: Concourse Steak House; Kona Cafe; Turf Club Grill. Anybody else?

These restaurants are in resorts, not parks, and MAY be able to accommodate your party.

Also check to see if you can split the party - three and four might be easier to accomodate than 7...

Not sure how you are gonna score a reservation for 7 people BUT I called several times a day for 2 weeks and I managed to score 3 LeCellier reservations. As soon as I got one (which was lunch), I hung onto that in hopes of getting a dinner ressie (which I did and then I cancelled the lunch). Don't lose hope ... Like I said, just KEEP on calling. Maybe have 2 people call and make one reservation for 4 people and the other for 3 people with the hopes of having a similar time for both ressies. I landed my ressies in mid-afternoon (3:00 ish Central Time). Trust me ... it is possible to get a ressie. Folks DO cancel!

Good Luck :) :) :)

Thanks to all of you for your advice! I always make ADR's! I was never even aware of Le Cellier. I guess I'll just have to get back again after this trip!! It amazes me that we have been there 5 times and their are still things that we haven't experienced! Can't wait to go!! Come on September 5Th!
