sorry if this has been asked but the search engine isn't working again. i was wondering about taking the kids to le cellier on our upcoming trip. i have never been and desperately want to go. the kids are 10 and 11. they are too old for kids menus and eat adult size portions.

anyone here take kids that age there and had success?

We took our 3 kids there (13,10 and 6)
They LOVED it. Its not overly fancy and its in the parks so kids are more than welcomed... we saw lots of kids there.

My kids loved the steaks! They also got a kick out of the moose dessert.

I see NO reason what so ever you should worry about bringing your kids.

This is NOT V&A :rotfl:

Here is a pic of my DD with her moose dessert haha

we took our 9 yr old and 10 yr old last summer, they loved it.my only complaint about le cellier is the space. Its a little tight, and some tables are not that great. But the food and service were excellent.I wish i hade made 2 adrs there for the 10 days we went, instead of a few of the places we did go.

We took our kids (10 and 8) this past December. My DS (10 yo) ordered from the adult menu. He got cheddar cheese soup, steak, and creme brule. He loved it and ate every bite.
My whole family loved Le Cellier. The atmosphere was nice and the bread they bring before the meal is great. I really liked the pretzel bread.
I say, Go and Have Fun!

My kids love it! They were 9 and 10 the last time we ate there with them. Like someone else said, it's not V&A's.

Biggest problem I have is fending off the kids from what I ordered. It's so good, I don't wanna share! :rotfl:

thanks for the replies. still not sure about it. what kind of things did your kids eat. these 2 would definitely not do anything like cheddar cheese soup or creme brulee.

my kids each got the steak and the Moose (pictured above) for dessert.

They ate the breadsticks for an appy ... DH and I got the soup.. SOOO YUMMY

I was curious as well, my kids are going to be 15,11 and 5 and my 5 year old is quite hyper little one..Coral Reef we were made to feel we didn't belong and was wondering if Lecellier was the same.

Sure, bring the kids! The tables are so close together everyone is nearly on top of everyone else anyway -- and the noise level is such that no one will notice a few more kids!

We have taken our boys (now, 14, 11 & 11) every time we go. The first time they went the twins were 7 and ate off the kids menu. They are looking forward to eating off the adults menu this summer.

My older boy is all about meat and potatoes, so he gets steak everywhere he can and this one of his favorites at Disney. One of the twins also loves steak, while his twin is not a fan of meat (identical opposites is my term for them :rotfl: ). They love the Caesar salad to start, my non-meat lover eats the chicken. The atmosphere is casual, the tables are close, it's not a quite romantic place so kids are welcome. Go and enjoy.

We love Le Cellier and have been taking the kids for quite some time. Our last trip was August 07 and we aged my older son up to 10. He had the duck three ways appie (loved it) and either the filet or prime rib for dinner (he loves both). My younger one is always happy with a hot dog.

Remember that if you're on the DDP, appies have been removed so if your kids won't like soup or any of the offerings, that's fine, since it's not included anyway. And no one says you have to buy an appie. As for the entrees, you can have them leave off sauces or put them on the side if you think the kids would like it better.

I'm sorry to the poster who was made to feel unwelcome at Coral Reef. That has always been one of our favorite places and we went there for DS's birthday last year (and got the personalized menus and diver as well). We went once and younger ds was really at the edge...so hungry and we told the waiter and said that we'd be so happy if ds's dinner could come out first...within 3 minutes (even before he brought our drinks) he had ds's pizza in front of him, hot and fresh. Absolutely made our dinner and saved the evening.

We dined at Le Cellier during July of '07 with our children, ages 5 & 3 at the time. It went very well for us. No problems at all and we had a waitress that was very nice and efficient. Brought our some crayons for the kids if I recall correctly. Anyway, we are going back this summer and dining again at LC.

My kids all love LeCellier!!! Its on our must eat list every trip now:thumbsup2

when i went there, i didnt really like it. well its probably just because i really dont eat that much meat. not much help! sorry!
have fun on your trip!
:)

We went to Le Cellier for dinner with both of the children and had a wonderful meal! The kids loved the pretzel bread and the desserts - one got the Chocolate Mousse and the other got a S'More with sprinkle covered marshmallows.

We love it at Le Cellier. We eat here every trip. This past time my children were 1,2,and 7. My DS7 loves steak and the chocolate mouse dessert. We have never had any problems!

Took 10 and 6 yo. 10 yo had steak and soup and loved it! I have always seen kids enjoying themselves there.

I also wanted to add that we are going back in June. My DD6 will be celebrating her birthday. She REQUESTED that be one of our dinners while in Epcot :cool1:

She really likes steak and got a huge kick out of the moose dessert!

If your boys are picky eaters... you can ask them just to hold any sauce/gravy on the side.

At a few places (not Les Ceillers as he loved the steak there) we ate at my DS13 could not find anything he liked on the menu. The server let him order an adult sized portion of the kids menu... IE instead of 1 hot dog he got 2 with extra sides. They did charge him an adult TS point as we were on the deluxe dining plan. I am not sure if all places do this or just a few... I am also not sure if this is a rule or just a year of a million dreams special dream granted :rotfl2:

DS is 10, and has eaten at LeCellier 4 or 5 times, starting when he was 5 or so. He loves the breadsticks, the maple barbeque filet, and the chocolate Moose dessert.

My kids love this place. This is my son's favorite hot dog in the whole world!! If you are still a little hesitant, you might want to go for lunch. The atmosphere and menu is just a little more laid back. Since we are not on a meal plan, we almost always split dessert and appetizer and sometimes also split the steak.
