I know we will be ordering the fillet with mushroom risotto, and want to try something else for our second and third choices for our family. What do you recommend? We don't eat salmon, and the scallops on the menu don't sound that interesting to us.

When we were there last summer I had the Coffee-rubbed Kansas City Strip Steak and found it surprisingly good. I'm not a big coffee fan but was willing to try this because it was something different and I like to try things a little out of the norm for me. I also highly recommend that you try the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, it is absolutely amazing!

When we were there in September, DH and I Had the filet (although we got the cream cheese mashed--not a big mushroom fan); our best friends were with us and Shelley ordered the New York Strip and Tom ordered the Prime Rib with Yukon Potatos and they both loved. Both pieces of meat were so tender that they would have been able to cut with a butter knife.

I have to third (or fourth) the NY strip. It was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and tender.

A vote for the filet with cream cheese mashed instead of risotto. Mmmmm it was yummy last Wednesday!!! We had to start with the Cheddar cheese soup too! It was Canada day so they were passing out stickers and then they sang the Canadian National Anthem Disney style. It was a fun day to visit.:thumbsup2

As a Canadian, I would be interested to know what the Canadian National Anthem is when sung "Disney style".

They did not sing it with any disrespect. They just inserted some sound effects (syllable notes) to sound like instruments. One server sang in French and the others is English. They stood together in the center of the restaurant and all of the servers participated as the patrons watched. :)

"O Canada" is normally sung in both official languages - english and french.

The chicken breast with the mashed potatoes was wonderful!!! I love eating here.:cool1:

The cheddar soup is a must do. My wife had the coffee-rubbed KC strip and loved it. I must say though, I had the filet with mushroom risotto and it was by far the best meal I've ever eaten! If it were me... I'd have everyone just order that to avoid the jealousy across the table.:confused3

I have tried the strip steak and regretted it. I so missed not getting the filet mignon with the cream cheese mashed potatos. I will never skip having my favorite meal there again. Love, love the chocolate mousse for dessert :thumbsup2

You'll probably think I'm crazy but steak doesn't interest me. I'm actually considering the 'crab and corn custards' and a side of macaroni & cheese and maybe field greens. And, of course, dessert. One of the benefits of not using the dining plan, you can pay for and eat what you want.

DH & DD had the Prime Rib last time we were there and loved it. I had the filet with the cream cheese potatoes too and loved, loved it. It was our favorite meal of the 10 days that we were there. They also let DD get a smoothie as her drink, which she thought was wonderful.

I know it's politically incorrect, but my daughter-in-law had the veal chop just last saturday and it was outstanding - huge and actually had a sweet flavor - said it was the best she'd ever had. I had the filet - wonderful - and my son had the NY , which was also really good ( quite a bit bigger). My youngest had the Kansas City strip, which he enjoyed but after tasting all the meals I thought it was the weakest ( not as tender as the NY )

And the soup was fabulous....
Be prepared for a wait though - it was 50 min after our res. that we were seated. I was relieved it was worth it.

I am salivating over the mushroom risotto just THINKING about it. We could only get a lunch ressie for October, thankfully, they have it on the lunch menu!!!!!!!!
PS--I like mushrooms, but don't LOVE them and this was just delicious!!
