I was playing with my ADRs again last night. Le C has been totally booked. In fact it has been on every trip we taken, so wwe've nevere eaten there. This sudden availability is making me think that a lot of people are not on board with the idea LC is now Signature. Either new bookings are way down and /or people are cancelling. (how else would there be availability when there wasn't before.). I anticipate a big drop in ADRs there after the change. Especially because people have previously been able to go to LC for 1 credit, and now dont want to use 2 for the same restaurant/ food. It is psychological, IMO. It is easier to talk yourself into using the 2 at CG, etc, which have always been 2 credits. Plus, I think having some really fine dining for 1 credit was what made people feel good about the DDP, Dxdp. (i have never gotten it free.). When they start to make all the nicer restaurants 2 credits, people begin to feel there is less value in the plan, iMO.

If the quality improves, I'm all for the change. I'd be surprised to see them leave things as they are, but charge 2 credits. We don't really know what it will be like, until the change is implemented.

Le Cellier is not worth two credits. Now if Tutto went two, or Kouzzina...I don't think you'd see a change. But Le Cellier serves mid-quality steaks and cheap sides...I know the cheese soup is popular but that is a very easy dish to make at home. We went to Le Cellier once, it didn't make my cut for even one credit, much less two.

Oh wow... I was just checking and saw a LOT of availability that for sure wasn't there before. I snagged a dinner and cancelled our lunch. I'm anxious to see the new menu and will remain optimistic towards things in hopes of a great dinner next month.

I think alot of people might be waiting to see if the menu changes before committing to using 2 credits. If they improve the menu to a 2 credit standard, they may get the reservations to pick up. Personally, I am waiting to see reports here on the disboards....

to once again see Le Cellier availability for dinner online. I feel like I should grab something even though it's not in our plans to eat there!

I think you will see a shift to lunch reservations instead of dinner reservations for people on the dining plan. I can see it being easier for people who are paying out of pocket and not on the dining plan to get dinner ADR's.

I think that was part of the plan. People paying OOP couldn't get in to pay $35 for the steak. ;) They were getting much less from DDP patrons filling tables than they would have gotten, if the tables were filled with those paying OOP. Unlike many restaurants, the seating capacity is low, so it's not as difficult to fill the tables. Now, they'll make money on DDP & OOP patrons.

I think it is psychological because I gave up my reservations for 2/28 when we moved our trip to September, and we were just discussing dining options and Le Cellier didn't make the list because I don't want to spend two credits on it! I also have the recipe for the Cheese Soup in the Dining with Mickey cookbook we got a couple of trips ago! Tastes every bit as good. I live in the Midwest so I can get an excellent steak at probably 10 restaurants within 20 miles of my door! What I need is a good German restaurant nearby to get the pretzel bread!

THis must be a new change because as of a couple of days ago, you could only book dinner via phone call. The online system was not accepting dinner ADRs. Most of us knew this, or tried to get the word out. I called 2 days ago for dinner ADRs for the first week of May and it was wide open with any day and most times. I booked for May because I'm interested in the new menu for dinner. I don't use DDP anymore, so will be using my TiW discount.

I just made dinner ressies for the end of March...:thumbsup2

I think they need to do with Le Cellier the same that they do with Cal. Grill. Take a credit card to hold the ressie. that cuts down on people who book and don't show up.

We're leaving in two weeks and I can't get a ressie online (been trying for a while). Do you think if I call I might have luck getting one?

You can try...but they are on the same system...

Try each day... the computers update overnight.

Yep, it looks like you can now book dinner at LeCellier for the after March 1st date online. I just checked after calling the other day and all of the same days and times that were told to me are STILL available. I've noticed a few other changes too. Now there's a print button so you can actually print your list. Before I would cut and paste it to a word find and clean it up. Plus one of my ADRs did not show in my list, so I did a search for it and it came up and then is automatically was saved into my ADR list. Any who wanted dinner before and thought it was booked up should try again because it just was never available for online booking, but lots of folks thought it was just booked up. I see that lunch will be the hard meal to get in the future.

I called and was able to change our ADR for lunch at Le Cellier to dinner for June. We have TIW and we'll see if the meal is worth it.

We ate at Le Cellier last year for 1 TS and the meal was not worth 2 TS. I am definitely not eating there for dinner this time.

Does anyone here know if the menu is changing at all? Or are they planning to leave the menu the same and charge 2 credits?
