Le Cellier... some advice please?

So is it just me or was the whole experience of making an ADR really not as bad as everyone made it seem? LOL. I just made the call for a reservation in late April, and got it with no problems.

Now on to the actual question... I'm surprising the bf with reservations at Le Cellier on our trip there (he's a big steak fan, as am I!), and I got the reservation... only problem is it's for 8:30, and according to a schedule I spotted online, Illuminations starts at 9 - eep! I called back, but they're totally booked up now. So my question is, how easy is it to get an earlier dinner time if you already have a reservation? I'm going to keep calling - the woman who assisted me told me to try closer to the date of my dinner - but are there any tricks I'm supposed to know about?

I'd have tried booking the Rose & Crown for the view of Illuminations, but the steak reviews got my attention. ;) The trip is for my birthday, so this is our one big meal splurge in an otherwise thrifty, shoestring-budget vacation!

Any help is much appreciated!

Yikes, sorry to say but normally LeCellier is very hard to get into for earlier dinners. I was able to snag one last year when someone started an "ADR cancellation" thread on here and someone posted a LeCellier dinner cancellation. I called right away and got their slot. Otherwise, just keep calling back to check. As a side note, the mushroom filet mignon is their specialty and it's only served at dinner and it's really fabulous. We try to eat there every trip just for that meal.

Hope you're able to move your ADR up. Good luck.
:)

Keep trying! People do cancel reservations all the time, so just be persistent with calling everyday. The fact that you already have a reservation has no bearing on your ability to change your time (a new time is a new reservation), but at least you know you will be able to eat there.

Good luck!

Thanks! I figured I was lucky to get a reservation at all, and will stick with it regardless, but I'll keep trying just in case there's any chance of getting an earlier time! :)

Yummy!!! you will love Le Cellier. My favorite it the Maple Fillet. Of all the places we went to and had steak (even Narcoosees) Le Cellier was best!!

I called first thing this morning for mid June (we're talking over three months out). There were no dinner slots available. So I took a late lunch.

We just ate at Le Cellier last week. We had a 7:10 pm dinner reservation and we did not finish in time for the 9 pm Illuminations. Now we did have 9 people in our party but I just wanted to let you know what time we had. It was, by far, the best meal of our weeklong trip. Yum!

Does it have to be dinner? We always book a late lunch because it's less hectic and the reservation is much easier to get. If that works, it might be your best shot other than calling every day.

If you are not able to get an earlier ADR do not despair. Can you view Illuminations on another night of your trip?
It is truly magical to walk out to a nearly empty World Showcase after a later dinner in one of the WS restaurants. The atmosphere is wonderful and unique. You will not experience anything else like it. Plus when you get to the buses, the lines will have dissipated. It is very romantic and magical.
Enjoy
