I guess with more people booking Le Cellier for lunch over dinner this year, it's rumored that in 2013, lunch @ Le Cellier will covert to signature dining.

Should be noted that while it appears in the new 2013 DDP brochure, there has been absolutely no other word from Disney on this, no announcements, nothing. They've been wrong on the brochure before. So we're waiting for further confirmation.

I read that a few days ago in another post here, I don't think it's a rumor. Is the 2013 DDP brochure out yet?

EDITED: Oh I see TDC Nala answered better!

"Lunch at Le Cellier will no longer be 1 credit on the Disney Dining Plan come 2013. Le Cellier will become a full time signature restaurant (2 credits on the Disney Dining Plan) in 2013."

Not worth it at half the price....

I vote on the brochure being right. Disney's greed is showing again LOL! They realized they had to do NOTHING else but call it Signature and that worked so why not do the same thing for lunch!

Except, they're likely going by the same source that we are here, and just calling it fact. (The brochure).

While I'm expecting it to be true, I do recognize that Disney's proofreading department is pretty pitiful at a lot of things, and the dining plan brochures are certainly one of them!

Unless they got their own verification via Disney, then their guess is as good as ours ;).

It also opens up the possibility for them to really increase the offerings at LC, since they'd no longer have to keep the "cheap stuff" for lunch and could offer a true signature experience for both meals. Of course, that's my optimism, they could very well keep it the same and just rake in the extra cash too :p.

:rotfl:

They would no longer have to keep the "cheap stuff' I vote on your second view... Same cheap stuff, new higher pricing.

That's what they did for dinner and it worked...

A travel agency on Facebook was not the confirmation I had in mind. Disney itself made a number of announcements prior to making the Le Cel dinner signature. Possibly they wouldn't just spring lunch on everyone in the brochure without announcing so people can change their reservations if they want. But they might, so I would like to see an official Disney source come out with it. There've been plenty of rumors going around that lunch would be going signature, so they could have done it.

I hope some folks who really care about whether it's true or not (I don't, not really) contact Disney and ask if the brochure is correct, maybe if it's wrong they'll revise it like they did when they published the one in March that said the regular plan included an appetizer. There was a lot of joy on the boards over that one, and it turned out to be an error.

I expect that Le Cellier will follow the lead of Brown Derby over at DHS...offer an "all day" menu once they convert over to signature.

Meanwhile, has anyone tried to book a lunch at Le Cellier for after Dec. 31?
Tried today for every day the week of Jan. 13 and NOTHING was available (up to 186 days out). Makes me suspicious that they aren't taking ADRs for lunch in anticipation of the change.

Personally I would not be at all surprised to see them go completely signature and have an all day menu. Which would mean $9 for the cheese soup all the time, unless it goes up to $10 or $11.

Yup, me too! I spoke to someone from IPO at AKL, and they told me yes, Le Cellier is going to be signature for lunch starting in 2013.
