Le Cellier or Via Napoli/Tutto Italia for non-red meat eaters?

I always wonder why a non-red meat eater would want to eat at a steak house in the first place. Or (for example) why someone who doesn't like fish would want to eat at a seafood place. I don't care how good the inside of the restaurant looks, or how great the service. It's what's on the plate that counts.

Sorry. mini rant over. Please continue.

In many cases (like mine), it's one person in a family or group making a sacrifice so others who really love that kind of food can enjoy. I am allergic to seafood, but my DH loves it, so a few times a year I deal with the mediocre steak or chicken option at a seafood restaurant, so that he can have his shrimp.

I would go to Via Napoli. Le Cellier is good, but it's overrated, and you will have little to choose from.

Agreed. I haven't eaten red meat for over a year, but all my friends still do. And if I want to go out with them, 90% of the time we end up at someplace with limited options for me. And in Disney I'd still go to Yachtsman or Le Cellier, only because I know I can be accomodated without making special requests.

If you go to Tutto, the pasta caprese is fabulous :thumbsup2 and has no meat. However, if I was paying OOP, I'd be hard pressed to spend that much money cause I'm cheap. :lmao: Paying OOP, I'd go to Via Napoli for pizza.

Yum! All sounds good. We will definitely go for lunch and I made an ADR for Via Napoli for dinner. I think we will go outside our comfort zone a little bit and try the infamous Cheddar Soup w/bacon and then do either a salad/extra app plus an entrée to share.. maybe salmon? And we'll obviously have to split one of the desserts too. ;) Getting excited! Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Great plan! We've been to all three (Le Cellier, Via and Tutto.) We absolutely love Le Cellier and Via. Tutto is fine, but no longer on our rotation because while the food is fine, the menu and the atmosphere aren't as interesting to us. We prefer the lively atmosphere at Via and the fresh decor (high ceilings, hardwood floors, very open and airy.) In our experience, the CMs at Via have been much friendlier and efficient. The menu at Via just appeals to us more, and fits well because we have a mix of near vegetarians, light eaters, picky eaters, heavier eaters and pepperoni/sausage fans.

Our oldest son prefers not to eat meat, but he really enjoyed the cheddar soup and pretzel bread at Le Cellier (fished out the bacon) and loved the caprese salad and pizza at Via.

So I think your plan is ideal for your family's circumstances. Have a great time!!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! :goodvibes We are feeling pretty good about this plan and look forward to trying both restaurants!

P.S. At Disney restaurants that feature steak/meat on their entree menus, our oldest son (the one who does not care for meat) usually checks the appetizer menu. He can often find great appetizers featuring scallops, mushrooms or some other non-meat items. He often orders an appetizer with soup instead of an entree.
