Le Cellier or Monsieur Pauls for romantic dinner for 2?

It's like asking whether you want to eat in the main dining room or in the alley way behind the restaurant next to the dumpster. LeCellier is decidedly not the restaurant to go for a "romantic dinner".

Eating in Le Cellier is kind of like eating in a prison dungeon. No hopes for romance there. You'd have to drink a lot.
:lmao:

I agree that there's nothing romantic about LC. i'd definitely pick MP over LC any day.

First, I agree with the Le Cellier atmosphere. You could have more romance if you took a spin through Living with the Land. I also woudl nto choose any of the theme park restaurants for a romantic meal. If you want steak, walk over to the Yachtsman. It has a few quiet corners and the food is good. You could also go to Narcoossees or Citricos at the Grand. Again, good food and way more chance of having a little space between you and all of your new best buddies.

If they removed half the tables in Le Cellier than it would be a very nice atomosphere. If it is only about food choice they should go with what appeals but Le Cellier is cramped elbow to elbow in many places. Should not be like that for a Signature. ****M. Paul has a new Chef does it not? I had a French Family Traditions event there and the food was great.! Is potentially a nice view location for Illuminations if they dine late.

Another option to consider! The Boardwalk! It is a nice stroll from Epcot gate or a nice boatride.. Dinner at the new Flying Fish if you go once they reopen or Yachtsman steakhouse perhaps ? Then have a lovely leisurely stroll on the Boardwalk after..ice cream, sit on a bench and watch Illuminations in the distance...then if they are staying on property catch Uber from Boardwalk lobby for easy inexpensive transport.

Of the two, definitely Monsieur Paul. It's quiet (for a Disney restaurant) & tastefully decorated, perfect for a date night.

I'll add to the chorus and vote for Monsieur Paul. Especially if they're fans of Epcot or France. I love the food at Yachtsman, but I don't find it particularly romantic.

Monsieur Paul! To me it's the most intimate romantic restaurant in Disney besides V&A.

Now i'm rethinking my Le Cellier res on our final night. Is it THAT bad where we can't hear each other? Haven't been there in a while

It's not so bad where you can't hear each other, but it is fairly loud and the big part of the problem is those seated so close to you in the next tables around you will hear every I love you, sweetie, baby, your the world to me and all the other things couples would say to each other when wanting a romantic evening out. Again, perhaps I'm fairly harsh on Le Cellier because I don't think it even comes close to measuring up to a signature restaurant and also believe there are far many better choices both for food quality and atmosphere, especially if wanting romantic or quiet... Or at least romantic and quiet for Disney (which can still be fairly active).

Hear, Hear! Just agreeing with Goofy4prez. It's not that Le Cellier is bad but it's certainly not the best. I kinda think that is is so popular because the food is more familiar to many(most?). Or maybe because it first in line and to the right as you get to World Showcase! I'm a also not a fan of the meal plans feeling that it stresses quantity rather than quality. It seems to me that many places, Le Cellier included, have taken a step backwards in quality when the meal plans came to be. Granted, they folks in the door but it seems that's not always best for the food.

The food at LeCeller is just better. The worst meal we had on property was at Pauls. Save France for dessert and have the folks dig into the mouth watering eats at LeCeller :)
