I read on one of the previous post that at Le Cellier later ressies did not have many children in the restaurant. My children are usually pretty good when I take them out to eat. My concern is I want to go to Le Cellier but after reading the board it seems to be more of an adult thing. Is this true? Would they have more fun at Concourse? We are already doing 4 character meals for them. Just wanted something not character related. Thoughts?

Your girls will probably like the Concourse better, as the atmosphere is pretty neat with the monorail sailing quietly overhead, and the huge, vaulted a-frame look. If you are going to the Concourse Grill, won't your girls wonder about all of the music and characters dancing around at Chef Mickeys right on the other side of the barrier? I have to admit, we go to Le Cellier quite often and do not see a lot of kids there. My own personal opinion is that they would just enjoy The Concourse more.

My 7yo daughter really enjoyed Le Cellier. We went for lunch, so that may have had something to do with it. She enjoyed the breadsticks and the story, the coloring, her moose dessert and, especially, playing with the mask she had just started! No, she didn't love it the way she loved CRT or Chef Mickeys, but it was a lovely family meal and she was all smiles. Then again, my kids are pretty good at sitting in a restaurant. A 4yo may not be ready for that...

I can't comment on the Concourse - it may be a much better place for children!

We are planning on taking our 5 yo and 23 month old to Le Cellier for dinner. We've never eaten there so I'm wondering why the other posters think it is not kid friendly. I've been hearing great dining reviews of the place and am eager to try it out.

We brought a 3 year old there last Fall (twice). No problem (though one of the times he was tired, and crawled up on the floor and fell asleep).

I have found all WDW resturants are kid friendly-except for V & A's. (& yes that is my opinion) I would look at the menus on www.allearsnet.com to see which your kids would prefer, that is what I do with my kids 5 & 8. 2 of my kids favorite are Brown Derby & Chefs de france. And LeCellier is the top of my list for of next trip.

I was a little concerned about bringing DD 18 months to some of the "fancier" restaurants, but after going, I wouldn't hesitate to take kids to any of them. We ate at Artist Point and she stayed with her grandparents, but there were kids all over the restaurant, some asleep curled up in their chairs. :) There were tons of kids at Le Cellier. DD has about 1 hour attention span at restaurants (on a good night!) and she did fine! The food came pretty quickly, and they gave her something to color while we waited for the food. I haven't tried Concourse, but if you're leaning towards Le Cellier, definitely don't worry about taking the kids along!

Thanks! I think that I might stick with Le Cellier. I really really want to go there. The kids like steak too and they can both get one there. When you say fancy though HLAuburn, do you mean that there is a dress code?

No sorry, I guess that might have been a little misleading. When you pay $30 for an entree, to me, that's a fancy restaurant. But, at Disney, fancy dining goes out the window! I think the signature restaurants like Cal Grill and Artist Point do state "business casual", but I saw people in clothes that I wouldn't wear out in public, :teeth: so trust me, anything goes as far as the dress goes.

Have fun! Le Cellier is great! ::yes::

I've seen plenty of children at Le Cellier. I would consider it perfectly acceptable to take a four and an eight year old. However, I've dined there mostly without children and once with my niece who was 4. Our service was different with the four year old. The food came out more quickly. The waiter wasn't as chatty. We were moved along. Granted our neice wasn't having a good day, wiggly and kind of cranky. She looked as if she could start crying or yelling at anytime. I always wondered if the server was trying to get us out quicker for her sake. Our meal there took under an hour and generally taked one and a half to two hours.

As a usually childless diner, I don't mind kids in fancier restuarants at all, as long as they are not running around and around the restuarant, squeeling (and not in delight), crying, or yelling and pounding on the table. I simply can't believe the parents who will bring two young children (maybe 3 and 4) into Artist Point at 8:00PM and ignore them while they squeel at the top of their lungs and then cry when thier parents don't pay attention to the squeeling.

I think that is what people are talking about whent they say some restuarant aren't for children. They mean children who distrupt everyone else with parents who do nothing about it. I think your 4 and 8 year olds will do just fine at either restuarant

When we went to Le Cellier the place was swarming with kids. I don't think there was a table without at least one kid. It is far from an adult restaurant. My 6 y/oi DD loved it. They gave her a coloring page and crayons and she loved the chocolate mousse dessert. We had appetizers, entrees, and desserts and we were only there about 1 1/2 hours. I can't imagine anyone staying there any longer.

Thanks. I am going to stick with Le Cellier for sure now. My only question now is 7:00pm too late of a ressie? Maybe I should do an earlier one for Illuminations. Sorry for all the questions. I am new to all of this.

We went on a family trip over Xmas week with 3 boys 15, 9 and 5. We ate at both places, all liked the atmosphere better at Le Cellier than Concourse. The food was much better at Le Cellier also.

I found Le Cellier to be at LEAST a two hour experience (sometimes 2.5 hours). You may be cutting it close for Illuminations (especially if you want to get a good spot for viewing).

We had 7:10 ADRs, and we checked in at about 7pm. We waited several minutes for our table (maybe 30 min) and we were walking out at 8:30pm. Maybe with a little one they hurry things along. It was perfect timing for Illuminations, in my opinion...plenty of viewing spots still.

We're taking our 7-year old to Le Cellier next month. Never crossed my mind that it wouldn't be appropriate for her, so glad to hear it's definitely kid-friendly! She is a very good restaurant patron!

We also have our reservation at 7:10, so we're hoping the timing is OK for Illuminations.

Never been to Le Cellier before, so we need to do our patriotic duty!
