Le Cellier... NOt that great!

Actually, I believe a read somewhere else that the Mushroom filet was one of the top rated steaks by WDW visitors not too long ago. I think that the soup and breadsticks are unique and is why they are often commented on as being a fav.

And growing up on a cattle ranch in my younger years alloweded me with access to some of the best beef around. Regardless of all of that, Le Cellier is not the "best" steak I've had, but it certainly is a "very good" steak and I have dined at some of the "best" steakhouses in the country. In fact one of those places was Houston! :lmao:

I will gladly take your seat any time I visit. Thank you! ;)

Sadly, I couldn't find a clapping smiley to agree with you.

I've been to BLT in NYC, Mickey Mantle's in OKC, and several awesome steakhouses in Dallas (including the Old Hickory at the Gaylord) and, while LC was not the best, it was good. It was a quiet, cool respite from the heat and humidity when we probably needed it most. We had a great waiter, enjoyed the pretzel bread (we almost fought over it), got free champagne since it was our anniversary and loved the moose mousse.

I have this down as a choice for our honeymoon, but by then, it will be a Signature restaurant. I'm thinking I'm going to keep an eye out to see if there is a menu change to see if it is worth the 2 credits and definitely check out everyone's reviews. As of right now, we have mixed feelings. Alot of my friends rave about it, and it seems like a lot of people have mixed reviews on here. I'd rather put my credits towards 2 other restaurants that have better reviews.

We ate here the first time in November. We all liked our meal but never had the "awe" moment. It was a decent steak but I wouldn't back the hype behind it at all.

Now I did kinda have an "awe" moment with the smoothie I got. It was good enough that after my mom tasted mine, she asked for one too.

We really enjoyed our meals at Le Cellier last time we went. Everything from the pretzle bread, to cheese soup and steaks were great. That being said, as much as we enjoyed the food, I don't think its worth two dining credits. We still plan on going, but we will only go during lunch hours.

This was our experience as well. Good, but not HOLY SMOKES good! :lmao:

It can be hit or miss. It's also a small restaurant so sometimes I feel clausterphobic.

It was a fine restaurant. Worth all the fuss? I don't think so. If they raise the prices when they change it to a signature, I won't bother.

DH has been begging to go back here for so long. I was able to snag a dinner ADR a few weeks ago when we were there. Now, I don't eat red meat so i wasn't really looking forward to it, but I knew he was.

However, I had the MOST incredible FISH dish there. It was beyond amazing...it was Gooseberry Cod with a lemon dill cream sauce, over maine lobster mashed potatoes. And there were also (perfectly cooked) asparagus.

That one meal has pushed Le Cellier into my must do file.

Dh had a steak, the soup, etc. His was fantastic, as well.

So, I never bought the hype (always just got a soup and a salad)...but now I do!

Le Cellier is by far our fave restaurant on property. I have never had a bad meal there. The cheddar cheese coup is amazing - so much so that its our appetizer at our wedding :lovestruc my filet mignon is always cooked to absolute perfection and that whiskey cake - WOW!

ok, it was sept 2005, the first time we went for free dining. we did not have Le Cellier OR Coral Reef on our itinerary, as they were both signature restuarants. but months before (not sure how many) the DIS was all abuzz, because they changed to 1TS credit each. we immediately booked both of the, for lunch, for our first trip ever using the DDP (and it was "free"). we stayed at CSR.
so yes, in August 2005 and sept. 2005, Le Cellier was only 1 TS credit. but it had just recently changed, before that it was def. 2 TS credits.
perhaps when they started the DDP, they put these 2 restaurants into the signature category, and perhaps they weren't getting enough reservations, so then they changed them to 1 credit each. now that they get so many ADRS for Le Clellier, they are trying, again, to get 2 TS credits out of people, but compromising (only for dinner).

they have not changed Coral reef back to a signature. they have not had great reviews. (for a seafood restaurants, there isn't much good seafood!)

IT'S A MYSTERY ALRIGHT!!!!

I've been there 3 times over a long period of time and all 3 were wonderful. Until I have a "horrible" meal there, I plan on being a repeat customer!!:thumbsup2

Wow! Never expected the responses we got so fast! Funny though I never said we had a bad experience or that it was terrible.

Sorry to hear you have had not so great experiences. Personally, we love Le Cellier. We have been every trip and it has ALWAYS been excellent. Actually, its been one of the most consistent places we have been to. The steaks are always done perfectly to order.

The only issues I have is that it is super busy and the wait times even with ADRs can be way too long. Also, the seating areas are too cramped in my opinion. I always feel like I am right on top of the other guests.

Even with the above issues, I still think its worth the wait. (and I am NOT a good waiter) We will always make Le Cellier a must do on our list. :thumbsup2

Our experiences were not bad at all. This restaurant is just OK...not bad but not great...that's all I'm saying. For it to be booked out so far is ridiculous for such an average place. And as far as Epcot restaurants...Bistro de Paris! Is Shulas technically an Epcot restaurant?...blows Le Celleir away!

...but then the "Denny's" crowd has pretty much taken over since the inception of the dining plan concept.

Seriously!!!!! Denny's crowd!!!! We use the deluxe dining plan on every trip to disney, but we only eat dinner at signature restaurants and do character breakfests because we have a 4 year old. I think that people use the dining plan in many different ways and our main reason for using it is to save money. We eat at five star restaurants across the world, but also pop into denny's once in awhile as well.

LOVE Le Cellier!! Great ambience excellent food...my opinion...but judging by how busy they are? I'm not alone!

I like me some Moons Over My Hammy every once in a while myself. Guess I am part of the "Dennys" crowd.;)

DH and I loved our lunch at Le Cellier. Our server was fantastic and kept our drinks full without having to wait for a refill (we went in September when it was insanely hot and humid).

DH said his fillet Mignon was the best he's ever had and my NY strip was perfectly seasoned.

Later that day we had dinner at Coral Reef and were severely disappointed in the service and the lack of quality of the food - especially since we ate at Le Cellier earlier in the day. Coral Reef is a restaurant that we will never go back to.

Not sure why, but this feels real snobby to me. I avoid chains (including Dennys) like the plague and my entire family loves to eat adventurously, and yet we love the DDP. In fact, that's what has allowed my kids to try new places and new foods that we probably wouldn't have been able to otherwise afford. Its a shame that the trade off was a decline in quality, but there's still enough good at Disney to make it worthwhile to my family.
