Le Cellier... NOt that great!

Wow! Never expected the responses we got so fast! Funny though I never said we had a bad experience or that it was terrible.

Our experiences were not bad at all. This restaurant is just OK...not bad but not great...that's all I'm saying. For it to be booked out so far is ridiculous for such an average place. And as far as Epcot restaurants...Bistro de Paris! Is Shulas technically an Epcot restaurant?...blows Le Celleir away!

...but then the "Denny's" crowd has pretty much taken over since the inception of the dining plan concept.

Denny's crowd. Puh-leeze.

it can only go downhill from here. Those of us who LOVE upscale restaurants, will post one way.

those of us who LOVE to eat at places like Denny's will post another way.

oops. we don't fit one profile or another! so. I will vote... Gary chico...!! oops wrong thread... wrong city,,, darn!

I'm guessing after the Denny's comment and the DDP in the same post, this is going to get fun. popcorn::

Me personally, no way will you ever drag me into a Denny's again to eat.. I don't care how inexpensive their breakfasts are. I kid you not, about 5 years ago a furry little mouse (and it was not Mickey) ran right across the ledge next to me. If this were not enough, his furry little girlfriend (assuming it was a girl mouse, I didn't look under the hood, LOL) scurried right behind. That did it for me. Made me wonder, is that a sausage link on my plate or not? True story. :lmao:

SIGH!!!! I guess there was ONE Denny's restaurant.. in Ohio, that had a problem...

why not post it on a disneydiscussion board, just to ruin the business at any Denny's nation wide" just cause,, you are bored?"
just to be clear. I do not, nor have I ever, worked at a Denny's. I am not related to anyone who works at a Dennys

Wow, you're reading WAY too much into this. I thought Le Cellier was "ok" even before the dining plan was around. I think you could have stopped at reply #3 when Pakey wrote:

I think the hype got worse when the dining plan became popular. As a 1TS on the plan, it's a good point to dollar value.

And that's it in a nutshell. It was the biggest bang for the value, 1TS credit in a theme park where you can get steak. It may or may not balance out a bit when it goes to 2TS credits at dinner. It's too early to tell just yet.

And the Denny's comment only made me laugh. I don't for one moment think the people who are paying Disney prices for their hotel rooms can only afford to eat at Denny's. :rotfl2:

exactly. and it just irritates me to hear people to downplay Denny's. IT is what it is. pretty good food for a decent price.

Our Canadian, Mateo, was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. I did not enjoy the food at all. It wasn't bad, but just not for me. The only thing I really liked was the preztel bread. I was so excited that I got ressies for it but disappointed when we left. Lecellier is off our to do list!!

And your other quote. exactly. and it just irritates me to hear people to downplay Denny's. IT is what it is. pretty good food for a decent price

Your assuming it was in Ohio?? Actually it was in Charlotte N.C. And your also assuming I'm bored.. I don't think I said smidgy should not go to a Denny's, I do believe I stated "I" would not go to a Denny's. This has nothing with being snooty either or looking down at Denny's or it's customer base. Nor was it looking down at you because you feel it is good food at a decent price. Sorry Denny's and Le'Cellier get you all irritated when someone does not agree with your opinion. And just to be clear; I do not, nor have I ever worked at Dennys. Further, I am not related to anyone who currently works or has worked at Dennys. :confused3

I should also say, I don't know if you assumed or mis understand that I am in agreement with comparing Denny's to the DDP and agreeing that those on the DDP can only afford Denny's. I do not support that at all. I use the DDP and eat at some very nice restaurants and some that are just every day run of the mill places... Denny's is just not one of them, nor will Le'Cellier in the future. Now Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel is another story... Love them.

On a lighter note: Seeing you are from the Chicago area, I travel to Chicago often, namely Northbrook, and love Francesco's Hole in the Wall Restaurant and Marcello's. And my favorite place for an excellent steak is Gibson's Bar & Steakhouse.

LC is on par with an Outback Steakhouse with Ruth's Chris prices if paying OOP. It got so much hype because all the meat and potatoes people who won't try anything adventurous could get a steak for 1TS on the dining plan, hence it's popularity. WDW caters to the nonadventurous boring suburban palate, hence the rave reviews. LC would be universally panned by any serious foodie.

Why all the hate? What has made you so angry? Just because someone likes meat and potatoes doesn't mean they aren't adventurous. Maybe they've been adventuring around the other days of their trip. Why does someone have to be suburban to be boring?

Anyway, I plan on going for lunch in June. I don't have a ton of expectations. Sure it's expensive. But that's what you get at Disney. It's the convenience of not having to leave. I would never expect a park restaurant to match a Ruth's Chris. Even Bistro gets some poor reviews.

And yes the comment about some would even have problems with V&A's... my DH and I ate there on our HM. It was great. But for the price, my DH definitely thought there wasn't enough food. He probably won't be interested in eating there again.

Since Denny's has nothing to do with LeCellier, or even Disney, this one is done.
