Le Cellier continues to be almost impossible to get reservations at but I just don't see why? It's good but it's just NOT that great in my book? I think an internet hysteria or something is responsible?:lmao: Seriously though I just don't get why this restaurant gets booked up so fast???:confused3:banana:

I agree. We have eaten there one time and I wasn't impressed at all. My steak was very fatty and 'chewy', it just had a horrible texture. I can't imagine going back again.

I think the hype got worse when the dining plan became popular. As a 1TS on the plan, it's a good point to dollar value.

I agree. The cheese soup is good, but my filet was super salty last trip and I found the whole meal to be disappointing. On top of that, they sat our party of 6 (including a child in a high chair) at a four-top. We were very uncomfortable.

I cannot fathom this restaurant being upgraded to a signature level (2 TS on the DP) without major changes. We have eaten there probably 5 times and it is progressively worse each time.

I think it is good by comparison to the other rather lack-luster restaurants in Epcot. People don't think to compare it to some of the resort restaurants.

I love Le Cellier. It is my favorite restaurant. The cheese soup is great, the fillet is great, and I love the pretzel bread. It is a must do every trip.

Sorry to hear you have had not so great experiences. Personally, we love Le Cellier. We have been every trip and it has ALWAYS been excellent. Actually, its been one of the most consistent places we have been to. The steaks are always done perfectly to order.

The only issues I have is that it is super busy and the wait times even with ADRs can be way too long. Also, the seating areas are too cramped in my opinion. I always feel like I am right on top of the other guests.

Even with the above issues, I still think its worth the wait. (and I am NOT a good waiter) We will always make Le Cellier a must do on our list. :thumbsup2

I agree terrible place!! No one should make an ADR for August 21-29th.

Yeah, we don't get it either. It only got so popular because of the 1 TS credit on the dining plan. Unless they do a major overall, I have a feeling it's going to be really easy to get a reservation once it's upgraded to 2 credits.

LC is on par with an Outback Steakhouse with Ruth's Chris prices if paying OOP. It got so much hype because all the meat and potatoes people who won't try anything adventurous could get a steak for 1TS on the dining plan, hence it's popularity. WDW caters to the nonadventurous boring suburban palate, hence the rave reviews. LC would be universally panned by any serious foodie.

1) With WDW it is sometimes like "Lemmings To The Sea".
2) A few people compliment something, and many other go along.
3) Then, it builds from there, and voilà, an undeserved reputation.
4) In many cases, people many are thinking for themselves.
5) Folks are even starting to complain about food deterioration from DDP.
6) As for Le Cellier going to 2TS, I will reserve judgment.
7) We currently only eat at five TS locations in WDW. *
8) And, sadly, only two of them are Disney-owned.
9) I would like to add another, maybe LC will become that much improved.

* And, this is made worse, since both Mrs and I get severe CM discount coupons to eat at TS's.

:rotfl::rotfl2: TOO funny!!

We absolutely LOVE Le Cellier! I have NEVER gotten a bad mushroom filet. Grilled medium--pure perfection on a plate. Mmmmmm. And the cheese soup & pretzel bread just add to my gluttony. Everytime we eat there, we ask each other "Why don't we ever book this TWICE during our trips?"

I agree. We have eaten there one time and I wasn't impressed at all. My steak was very fatty and 'chewy', it just had a horrible texture. I can't imagine going back again.

We ate there last time, and my steak was the same way. None of us were impressed, but we are going to give it one more try in May. I will say that our steaks and everything was way better at kona Cafe. I am really looking forward to going back there.:)

>>>>>It has been my experience that most TS restaurants in DW are definately a hit or miss proposition. Great one visit lousy the next...for the price you pay you would want great every time but there are just two many variables in an operation the size of Disney. Every time I read about 50 prime time I think of the expensive salmom dinner that was dryer then the sahara.....For me Le Cellier was great for lunch, not so great the time we did dinner(and it was way pricey)

We had a great meal there and our steaks were fabulous. Sure, I don't think it lives up to the hype but we went in hoping for a good steak and nice family dinner and we got just that. I will however not use 2 credits for dinner unless there is a major menu overhaul just because there are better signature restaurants.

Just ate there for the first time in Jan 2011. DH & I split the soup-just to see what the hype was & each had mushrm filet. His med-well and mine med. I thought it was perfect in every way.

DS ate so many snacks waiting to get in, all he ate was a breadstick-out of boredom, not hunger.

Probably not worth a 2TS credit if you use the dining plan. We try not to do too many TS in a trip (at least with DH's anti-planning insistance) and I had been trying to get ADR for this place for several trips now.

Well, it's pretty small... So that's one of the reasons that it fills up so fast. I personally think it's worthy of the hype-- I ate there a few weeks ago and my filet was melt in your mouth delicious. And I'm not just a 'boring suburban palate that only eats meat and potatoes', just for clarification.
