Is Le Cellier kid-friendly? It sounds like DH & I would like it but not sure if it's too nice for the kids. We've never done any sitdown dinners in Epcot so other suggestions are welcome too!

It's a steakhouse atmosphere... with a kids menu. We took DS when he was 6 or 7. I isn't a fun place for kids, but they are certainly welcome!

I took my kids there and they didn't have any problems. Mine were 5 and18months last time we went and they didn;t have any problems. The bread they brought out as soon as we sat down staved off any problems we might have had! They also had the coloring menus for the kids and that kept them busy too.

I THINK ive read somewhere they do a kids mickey mouse pudding !!! Its meant to be YUMMY!!!!
Sure someone will come along soon and tell us more!

Le Cellier was my favorite meal of the trip. It's not a energetic atmospehere like you'd find at a character meal, but it's certainly not grown up. The chocolate mousse dessert is shaped like a moose and designed for the kids. Personally, I think it's well worth doing. There will be plenty of meals designed for the kids, and this one targets the adults, but it isn't anti-family.

My DH and I are onsite now and ate at Le Cellier last night. The food was awesome.

Suggestions:

Mussells
NY Strip
Chef's Dessert

All restaurants in EPCOT expect that a large portion of their clientele will have young children and they are ready for them. This IS a very nice restaurant and you MUST get reservations or you will not have dinner here. Last night the hostess stated that they are currently booking for early JULY!

Bon Apetite!

It is great to hear good things about this place! We have resies on July 4th for 4:30. I was hoping to get dinner finished in time to get a nice viewing of the fireworks!! I am excited about eating here!! :cool1:

LeCellier's is my DD6's favorite restaurant. The night we went was really busy (like most, I'm sure!) and we were waiting in near the check in desk. One of the CM's was entertaining all the kids with little magic tricks and jokes. My girls were in stitches! The kid menu is very creative as other posters mentioned - lots of fun! So, yes...it's VERY kid friendly and has a little something for everyone. I personally liked how off the beaten path and tucked away it felt. Definitely worth trying - it's a #1 stop for all our trips now!

After enjoying LeCellier last year, It has become both my DS (11 & 8) favorite restaraunt. When I asked where they wanted to eat their first night, they both said LeCellier without hesitation. We used to start our vacation at Chef Mickey's but we feel the quality of food and character interaction has gone downhill every year. :flower:

We had lunch there last Sept. with DD6 and it's was fine. She loved the pretzel bread sticks and I loved her shrimp appetizer. We are going back this Sept. for dinner.

Our Family ate at Le Cellier last September and our kids, DD5 & DD2, had a great time. The CM's were outstanding, making an extra effort to make certain they were happy. The kid's meals were much better than at some of the other TS establishments.

Please don't take this wrong! Le Cellier is very child friendly and their chocolate 'moose' is adorable as well as tasty. However the tables are very close together, so please keep an eye on your kids. I was eating lunch there solo in May and could have popped a couple of parents. I was sitting at that first little table to right just as you enter. A couple with a little boy (about 3 y/o) came in and was seated next to me. I was sitting on that bench thing against the wall and the mother and child were sitting at their table but right next to me if you know where I'm talking about. Just as they sat down, the waitress was bringing my bread sticks out. The little boy suddenly yelled 'I want one of those' and lunged over my table upsetting my water into my lap and grabbing one of the bread sticks. (Yeah, you might know it was the pretzel one). Parents were apologetic (but laughing) as I mopped my lap up and the waitress brought me some more bread sticks. I was a little irritated (as well as cold), but it was funny, so I just laughed it off. Anyway they brought my burger and the kid again made a dive for my plate grabbing a french fry and again knocking my water into my lap. The second time I did not consider it so funny, even though the parents did. I was freezing and looked like I had peed all over myself. Anyway for dessert I asked if I could order the chocolate moose from the kids menu. Yeah you guessed it. That kid again made a grab for my food. As I saw his first movement I frantically grabbed for my water glass so it didn't wind up in my lap for the third time. Unfortunately I didn't take into consideration that a three y/o wouldn't be able to handle the dessert plate. Yeah, I wound up with a lap full of chocolate moose. This time the parents were mortified, but at the same time laughing hysterically (as were several other people around us). They offered to pay for my meal, but I just wanted to get out of there. I had to walk through Epcot looking like I had barely survived a food fight and peed in my pants, then had to walk back to BWV and change clothes before I could finish my day at Epcot. Anyway just a warning, the tables are close in there, so for the other patrons sake watch your child.

By the way I ate there again in Sept '05 and had a table next to me with the two most adorable little girls who spent most of the meal grinning at me. I wound up giving them a bottle of bubbles I had on me.

That is horrible, but can certainly see how this could happen because I agree, the seating is extremely close to each other. As for being kid friendly, if the OP means, do they have good kids' meals and deserts....absolutely. If you mean, letting your kids down from the table, as we have witnessed many times, and running around, it is not one of those restraurants. I agree, you sit so close on the bench you could almost each off of the person's plate. Oddly enough while eating in WDW last week, everytime the CM brought a highchair for our granddaughter, they always placed it at the end of the table and we always moved it to the middle, so that a family member is on each side of her.

That issue was about 25% seating 75% piss poor parenting...

As a parent of 3 young kids myself, one with Special Needs, I have learned to be EXTREMELY tolerant of other children and their actions - HOWEVER - I draw the line at HORRIFIC eating issues like the one the other poster experienced. If that were one of MY kids- I woudl like to think it wouldn't have happened at all - but if it did - it would have only happened once - after that they would have been strapped into a high chair or put on the other side of the table or we would have left.

I swear some parents leave their common sense at home when they go to Disney. We had a family next to us at MM at MGM on our last trip - they had 2 kids to our 3. (My kids are VERY good in restaurants - they sit the whole time, without any issues - even the little guy.)

WELL - these kids next to us were NEVER in their seats -they were running around right in the path of the servers coming from the kitchen, they STOOD to eat, never sat down - after a few minutes they picked up their plates, brought them to.........OUR TABLE and stood belly up eating in between my kids and started talking to them?! I looked over at the mom and all she said was "They're friendly" - Yeah TOO FRIENDLY - after about a minute when I realized the mom had no intention of removing her kids from my table - I shooed them away and told the parents that I only watch my own kids and I'd appreciate it if we were given the courtesy of being able to eat our meal by ourselves... @@

Just a little gripe - back to the topic at hand - YES Le Cellier is IMO child friendly :)

Thanks for the opinions on Le Cellier. I think I'll make an ADR. My kids are very good in restaurants. I wouldn't allow them to act in such a horrifying manner as the poster experienced! WOW! No way. Anyway, behavior like that doesn't just happen at one restaurant. That is obviously tolerated by the parents over time and that is how the child thinks that behavior is ok. I have a SIL that used to allow her kids to "walk" around restaurants while waiting for the food. When we would go places together my kids would get the "look" and know they weren't getting up! But parents like that make it hard for other parents to teach the right way to act! Whew...okay, off the soapbox!

Hopefully, we will have a nice time. :wizard:

WE were there 3 weeks ago, my DS 10, had a blast! The waitress was very attentitive and he loved the glowing ice cubes! Not to mention he and his Dad were battling over the pretzel bread!

This was my hubbys favorite restaurant! My son enojyed Coral Reef in Epcot for the fish taks, but the service was horrible! DH and DS lovedc the Biergarten too! Food was a buffet and the music was fun!

Good Luck!

Good Luck!

Le Cellier is definitely kid-friendly, as I think most WDW restaurants are. Our DD had a great time there, loved the food. She's also a great restaurant customer and never runs around, yells, etc. :)

That one poster's experience is something you see every once in a while (or more often, unfortunately) anywhere you go...where parents give up the job of parenting for a while, and let the little ones go nuts in public places. No way would I be letting my child grab food off someone's plate and knock over their glass...several times, at that!

:sad2: I just don't understand this?!? Not to get off topic but I have been to so many restaurants (some at Disney) that kids are running all over the place and the parents say to the waitress "Kids will be kids" and smile and take pictures of their kid running all over the place screaming and laughing. I can't believe that any parent would actually think part of being a kid is just running around and standing in your chair whenever you want and not having any rules. I do understand that it is Disney but there are rules and common courtesy to other diners to consider even at Disney. But venting about it won't change anything. The parents that don't (or really try not to) let their children do that already know how inconsiderate it is (and believe me, it really is appreciated and thank you!) and the ones that just don't care will never care. Ok, I feel better now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Yes Le Cellier (and pretty much all TS places in the parks) are kid friendly.

Le Cellier is one of our kids' favorites. Last August my son (11) had the mussels for a starter, the free range chicken for the entree, and then the chocolate "moose". My daughter (8) also had the mussels, the petite filet, and the chocolate whiskey cake.

From another thread on here, some people say that the whiskey cake actually has whiskey poured over it. That was never mentioned by our server, so it either isn't the case, or they left this off for our daughter, or she can really hold her liquor, LOL!

Le Cellier is already in our dining plans for this year in August, and we are all really looking forward to this meal.
