Le Cellier for birthday?

Hey everyone! I'm going to be at Disney for my 25th birthday on March 29. We already bought our tickets so I'm going to get a gift card for one day's admission ($75) as my birthday option. I love food so I want to use my gift card for a birthday dinner somewhere I couldn't afford to eat otherwise.

I want to go to Le Cellier in Canada for my birthday dinner. I love steak and they have Fin Du Monde, my favorite beer. Thanks to the reservation system not being up yet, I can't make reservations. Now I have time to think about it.

Has anyone been there on their birthday? I'm a big ham and if they sing and have cake I'm there. I'd be OK if it's classier than that, but I'm having a big birthday and I love being the center of attention.

Thanks!

Took DW down for her BD last year and we had lunch at Le Cellier (her favorite) and they did pretty much nothing.

Food was good, though, of course. If you want to be the center of attention for a goofy birthday display by the staff, head elsewhere.

They are supposed to bring you a crown and decorate your table. We have been there for 2 birthdays in the past and saw other tables get this, but not us.

It all depends on how busy it is and your server. We celebrated my 50th last year and I got a crown and a piece of cake; this past September we were celebrating a birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary and we got certificates for the birthday and anniversary and a piece of cake.

In Sept. my sister got a glass of Champagne rather than a dessert. I really think a lot of it depends on your server. Some just aren't into it.

Just so you're not suprised later, I believe the fun card can NOT be used for dining. It's good mainly for merchandise at the Disney-owned stores, and perhaps recreation, but not for dining.

Thank you for the replies! I'm going to have to do further research into this fun card, does this apply to all gift cards (such as the $200 for the Jan-March promo) or just the birthday card?

It's just the birthday fun card that has limited uses. The gift cards ($200 or ones you buy) are good for everything except perhaps non-Disney stuff.

Thank you so much! My DBF and I will split the $200 down the middle. I think I can convince him to let me use his $75 off our $200 gift card for dinner and just give him the birthday card. Or something. All I know is that I am having a good dinner and not paying for it, darn it!
