Le Cellier - anyone out there who didn't like it?

I did not like it either. I had the salmon and it was not good at all. Tasted funny. My husband and kids had steaks and they liked theirs. If I did not have the dining plan, I would have felt ripped off! Not planning on going back this year. We are not getting the dining plan and are only eating @ our most favorite Disney Restaurants and eating outside the World to save$$$$.

I'm knocking on wood that our great food/great service tradition at LC continues. Although it is not as good as some of the steakhouses in Chicago, we have always had great meals at LC and it is our one must do every trip.

I have to say I do not see all the fuss.. I know people love it, but to me it is mediocre and I have been there and done that. It is not one that I repeat, and yet I repeat many other Epcot and studios restaurants, just not that one.
This is the same way we view Le Cellier. We perceive the DDP makes this place busy since it is a 1TS ticket TS restaurant offering steak.

We ate lunch there during our recent trip. It was "ok". I did not care for my prime rib sandwich at all. My husband said his steak was just alright. I was disappointed as I had always read such awesome reviews. I definitely wouldn't rush back to eat there. Maybe it would have been better if we had eaten dinner there instead, but we were unable to get a reservation for dinner. Just curious if I am the only one out there who didn't care for it all that much.

Actually we did eat dinner there and weren't very impressed with it either. We don't see what all the hype is about. We may give it another try but AFTER we try all the other countries first.

Our first trip there it was AWFUL. My steak was way overcooked and Dhs was WAAAAAY undercooked. It was hectic and the service was slow.

Our 2nd trip was super! My filet was the best ever. Like any other place, it can be hit or miss. The pretzel bread is worth the trip. If I heard correctly, Biergarten also has pretzel bread.

I'm am definitely NOT a fan of LC. It does not live up to the hype.

The food is not that great. It's ok.

We have better ambience, better food and better prices at the Timber Lodge Steakhouse here at home.

My advice to people is don't waste your time trying to eat at LC. It's just not the golden goose it's cracked up to be.

I have to say I couldn't figure out what the fuss was after we ate there the first time. I'm not saying it wasnt good because it was good just not fabulous. I would eat there again but wouldnt be upset if I couldn't get and ADR.

We ate there back in October and it was one of the best meals we've ever had, it is the one and only time we've been there though, so I can only share my one experience. We ate on the later side, it was after 8:30 when we were seated. We were not rushed at all, the service was excellent, the food was excellent, and I really wanted to be able to go again this trip. Unfortunately it is completely booked for our stay (kind of a last minute trip!). We have not eaten at any of the more expensive steakhouses at Disney yet so I can't compare them.

I often wonder how many guests who love LC are on DDP, & how many are paying OOP.

I always wonder why this is an issue for people? We have paid out of pocket many times, and have been on DP, and guess what? Our expectations and reactions are the same. I assume you are meaning because people might feel more 'ripped off' if paying out of pocket, as opposed to being on DP as Disney is paying? People need to remember, that they are still paying - perhaps it's not as much as someone paying out of pocket, but they are still paying, nonetheless, so not saying anything about bad food or service just because one is on the DP, is irresponsible.

I would suggest this is why food and service is sinking. It shouldn't matter how one is paying for a meal - if it's subpar, it should be noted as such as that is the only way it is going to improve.

I think this whole attitude (not saying you espouse this belief as you just asked the question) is very selfish and is contributing to the subpar food and service we have been experiencing as of late, IMHO.

I agree with some of the other posters, it one of the better restaurants in a sea of mediocre dining. I personally don't find any of the dining at WDW all that great. Its definitely all very over priced and the food and service always just seem to be okay. My biggest gripe is that the menus are almost always so limited. Why can't they offer more than 5-6 entrees at each restaurant?? And most of the service is just painfully slow. I love WDW but I definitely don't go there for the food!

We were very disappointed last Sept. While we still loved the cheese soup, the entrees were not what they should be. The prime rib was actually terrible (not nearly as tasty or tender as it is at Boma :) ). We will not be eating there next Sept. unless we just go for the soup. I think there is still good food to be had at Disney World, but sadly, its getting harder and harder to find.

We are not fans. Matter of fact, I found the service to be the worst I've ever had at WDW and the filet was not any better than the one at Steak and Ale.

I think for some people, they don't eat at "real" steakhouses very often and are impressed.

It's mediocre at best and inconsistent. It's at least 2x overpriced compared to offsite spots and the atmosphere is dark and dingy. The reason it's hard to get a reservation is because it's tiny and doesn't have much seating and because it's a steak on 1 TS credit. It's also hard for me to eat a medicore steak in Epcot when there are some other really good restaurants nearby just in the WS.

We actually loved the place. I have been going to Disney for 20 years every year and I had never had dinner there until last trip. It was fantastic. I would say a close second to Narcoosees. I felt it deserved the hype and believe me I was skeptical.

I've eaten here several times. It's okay. If you want a GREAT steak at Epcot go to Teppan Edo. It is sooooooooooooooooooo much better than Le Cellier (IMO) and it's a much more exciting meal. :thumbsup2 I'm so over eating in the dark basement! :rotfl2: (Service last year was pretty bad....)

We're done with it now. We've been there three times and every year it just seems to decline even more so we will use our TS credit on something else.

We were there on Saturday and it took us 1 1/2 hours to be served lunch. This was our first experience there, after hearing all the positive reviews. Service was terrible, and the food was average. After an hour, I was wishing we had gone elsewhere...

I think it is so overrated for what it is. The meat is subpar when you compare to a NYC steakhouse. THe service has gone downhill etc. I just think it gets a lot of hype because it is probably one of the better values on the DDP and that makes it a hard ADR to get.

I liked it there. Food was good :thumbsup2 .I think it's made a more of a bigger deal is cause it's so hard to get in and being so hard to get in everybodody wants in. If you undersatand what I'm saying. lol
