I have just found out that Le Cellier has been promoted (demoted for us diners!) to that of SIgnature Restaurant and now costs 2 Table Plan points on the Dining Plan - what a shame! - Anyone else feel the same about this fantastic restaurant???

This is how I feel about it ! Hope a new menu will offer better choices....

Until then

Two points to note:

1) Le Cellier will still be a 1 TS restaurant for lunch.

2) No one knows, as of yet, what the "signature" designation will mean with respect to the dinner menu. It may (or may not) involve making the menu and ingredients more upscale for dinner service.

Are there any other restaurants out there that have been "upgraded" and cost more on the DP???:confused3

That is the only restaurant change from 2010 to 2011 so far.

As of now, there are no rumors of other similar changes; the Le Cellier change had been rumored for months before it became official.

I think it's kind of a bummer. I love that you can go to a nice steakhouse ( yes, I know there are those who hate it....I'm not one of them!) and it's only 1 TS. Especially if you want to make an evening out of going to Epcot. As the menu is now, there's far better options for 2TS than LeCellier. (it's terrific for a 1TS) I'd much rather go to Flying Fish or Narcoosee's or Yachtsman's for 2TS.

For us, LeCellier would be way too heavy for lunch and I don't think we'd do it for lunch just because it's 1TS. Hopefully they're re-vamping the menu and really making it special. I guess only time will tell. :) I'm glad we've got ADR's for next month for my birthday dinner !! :cool1:

When does this go in effect. I have LeCellier booked for dinner on our November trip. Will it be two TS credits then?

I posted this on another thread but I have to say it again 'cause I'm tickled pink about it! ;)

Our trip is Feb 27-March 5th 2011. I had already planned our days and was getting ready to set our ADR's when my 180 day window opens Aug 31st.
We will be in Epcot Feb 28th..the LAST night LeCellier will be 1TS credit..so that worked out perfect for us this trip! I'll be on the phone or online bright & early on August 31st! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for your help

it's just a shame because we loved the steaks there and it was great value for your DP points!:)

I don't use the dining plan, so I don't have any feeling about it and I do hope it will be easier to get into for dinner and the menu will improve. I don't consider it a fantastic restaurant, but it's okay. That may be because I don't order steak in restaurants. If they leave the mussels on the menu I'm good.

Perfect if the restaurant doesn't close prior to its switch to signature status. If I got a reservation for then, I would watch the boards for any announcements just to be safe.

Thats us also...That was the night I had it planned for. If we don't get in for that dinner we won't be going at all sadly and it is my FAVORITE place on property . But for 2 TS Id also rather do Flying Fish or Narcoossee's. So fingers crossed!

I agree - I found the with the exception of the pretzel bread and cheddar cheese soup, the steaks and menu were just so so. I also didn't like the fact I felt like I was sitting on top of the people at the next table.

If they decide to change the menu, I'd consider giving Le Cellier another try. I hope they will also do a little restructuring to give us a little more room while dining.
