OK, so here’s the scenario:

My Dad is fascinated with the idea of eating at Le Cellier (Epcot Canadian Steakhouse). He has been lucky enough to visit Disney World a few times over the years and every time he has tried to book a reservation at Le Cellier and every time he has failed. He has even gone and tried to wait without reservations but has been turned away. I am not sure why he is so passionate about this, but it certainly seems to be on his “bucket list” of things to do.

Now skip ahead to Tuesday, April 20, 2010, my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary. In celebration of this momentous occasion we invited my parents on a 3-night Disney Cruise (there first Disney Cruise) with my wife and I and their two grandchildren. Well, my Dad decides that he and my Mom are going to go down to Disney World a day before we get there so they can celebrate their Anniversary together in the parks (pretty sweet actually). So, of course, my Dad has attempted every day since this decision to try and book Le Cellier and, of course, he has had no luck. I, myself, have tried to book via the website and called down on a number of occasions as well.

So my question to you, the esteemed community of the Disboards, is there any way to get my Mom and Dad a reservation that I am missing? I would be willing to pre-pay for the meal for them or even consider a special package (though this is the only meal they will probably eat in the parks this time). My ideal scenario is for a dinner reservation for a party of two (2) on Tuesday, April 20th, but I would be happy getting them in even for lunch (I think it’s more just making into the “holy grail” of restaurants than anything else for my Dad).

Any thoughts???? Thank you so much for any help!

Call all the time hoping someone cancels? I have had to settle for lunch here our last 3 trips at 180 days out. Its so hard to get into.

All you can do is hope someone else cancels. With the online system you can check often.

People do cancel all the time, so keep checking. There isn't any way for them to pay their way into Le Cellier.

Also, if they don't mind having lunch or early dinner, tell them to try walking up either when they first open for either, or after 8 PM. Must it be dinner, or would they be okay with lunch? I understand lunch may be easier to get into.

Le Cellier's pretty overrated; It's good, but I can't imagine it making a bucket list. . If money isn't an object, within walking distance there is Yachtsman Steakhouse, within a little more walking or a short boat ride there is Shula's which may be the best choice for steak lovers.

We have dined there every time for the past 4 years of vacations, it is my entire family's favorite restaurant. We usually call right a 180 days, as soon as they open, and it's the first reservation I request. I would check frequently for openings though as many people do cancel, some at the last minute. In fact we are canceling our reservation on the 12th of this month, we just realized we had a scheduling conflict with other family members coming in. So at least two more spots will be opening up. Good luck :)

Keep calling everyday, several times. We are headed down at the end of the month and I was able to score LeCellier twice for our trip. I knew it was to good to be true, because we just got the schedule for my son's concert at downtown disney and we had to cancle one of our reservations, it wasn't for the date that you needed though.

IMHO this place (Le'Cellier) is not even in the top 5 at WDW for a steak. LC is good but certainly not earth shaking and life changing that so many claim. I was expecting Le'Cellier to be more exciting than that first kiss with Tammy (wow 35 years ago) in 5th grade band class. :)

With that said, his heart is intent on trying Le'Cellier and I hope that soon this is one of the things he can remove from his bucket list. :thumbsup2

Keep trying - I got a Le Cellier reservation for2 adults at 6:35 pm on Sat 4/24/10 just by being persistent. Sorry it isn't the right day or I would give it to you. We could go another time. :) I just kept checking on line until one day there it was. :) Hoping you will be able to do the same thing. Good luck!

Sent you a PM!
Congrats and I hope your parents enjoy their lunch :)

I was able to book an 11:30am for the 24th of April.(I figure by the time we are seated and food comes it will be after 12pm and lunchtime.) I just kept checking and today it popped up and we are only 4 days out from our arrival. I hope he gets to go. What an anniversary treat that would be for him. Fingers crossed! pixiedust:
