LBV (Comfort) vs 192 (Quality)

Just needed a place for 1 night coming in late before we hit the grocery and head to SOG. Got a night on points at Comfort Inn LBV or Quality Inn Maingate West. Quality tends to get better reviews on tripadvisor with Comfort being more mixed but then there are a whole lot more reviews and it doesn't get slammed too bad here.

So near as I can figure, it is pretty much a choice between a big, busy hotel in a calmer area (Comfort LBV) or a smaller hotel (Quality) in a busy area. Yes?, No? other thoughts?

personally we've chosen the comfort inn because of the area, I hate the 192, it feels busy and cheap, I much prefer LBV. the Comfort Inn has had some good reviews on these boards recently.
Saying that, for a one night stay does it really matter? You'll just sleep and then check out and move on in the morning

There is nothing wrong with the 192 area - although I have never stayed in a hotel there - we rent a villa.

Certainly do not think it is "busy and cheap", having stayed there for the past few years I think it's an ideal location.

I-drive is more busy and cheap.

hi
agreed, i don't think the 192 is busy and cheap. always stay at quality inn maingate west. very good value for money, near to the parks and all eateries.we are staying there for 8 weeks from jan3rd. getting nearer. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I think one of the nice things the 192 is going to offer you is the opportunity to pick up your supplies. For just 1 night on points, I don't think either is going to be a bad choice.

I think either, for one night, will not make or brake your holiday plans. With that said I also agree with the others that 192 in not cheap. You might have times when it is busy I do agree with that comment. There is an entrance to WDW on 192 you expect a moderate amount of traffic.

I think most of the major roads at times are busy, Poinciana Boulevard just off the 192 can get very busy at peak times of the day.

Really do not think the 192 is that bad, the roadworks at times obviously do not help.
But to call it "busy and cheap" in my opinion is not correct - I do agree there are too many tacky discount stores around, but they seem to be all over Orlando these days and particularly down I-drive.

The QI West is in a good location as there is a back entrance to Black Lake Rd that runs into Sherbeth Rd. You don't even have to get on 192 at all if you don't want. However, if you stay there I would make sure to ask for one of the front rooms. That back area where the rooms face Black Lake Rd looks kinda dark to me. I passed by it every night last year when we stayed at Silver Lake, and it just was not lighted enough back there for me.

That being said, I am staying at the CI LBV on 12/14 myself.

I stayed at QI maingate west in April. I didn't think the back was dark, that's where my room was (by request). It was very peaceful there. The back exit was great except when I was there they locked the back gate at 10pm. If you come in later than that you have to go around to 192.

in the 80's - Kissimmee area was not into tourism - this has changed big time.

they are still working on it.

they have installed sidewalks with trees/shurbs, u-turn area (so people are not trying to turn left all the time). they also want people to be able to walk around in the area to visit the restuarants and other places.

they are definitely trying!!!!

the ID has gone down and I mean down.....

Kissimmee is definitely trying to improve its image.

most of US 192 is Kissimmee - some of it is not.

go visit the site - it might change your opinion of the US 192 Kissimmee area.

Wanted to update since I just got back from WDw. I was mistaken about the QI West. It looked OK from the back. The one I was thinking of is the LaQuinta Lakeside (I think it's still LaQuinta, we didn't drive in front of it this time, just from behind, but it's the one w/ the big lake :rotfl: ).

We stayed one night at the CI LBV, and I thought it was just fine. I would stay there again if the price were right and I got a parking lot view rather than interstate.
