Returning from our latest Disney trip, we experienced something new (at least to us). United has started something called "Easy Check-in." If you have an electronic ticket you are directed to a special line. There you go up to a computer screen and pretty much self check-in. The computer takes you through all the steps. You have to put in a credit card (for identification purposes). It brings up all the members of your party. You then input how many bags you want to check and also select your seat assignment. The computer spits out luggage tags and boarding passes. It was a little challenging at first but I think I could like it after I get used to it. Unfortunately, it did not work real well for us this time around. You can't make special requests with this system. I had two ladies with me with walking difficulties. They really needed to be in window seats and or in the same row so as to not be rushed or trampled by those in a hurry to get off the airplane. We had to go upstairs to the gate and have them try to rework things so the ladies would not have a problem. Unfortunately, they could only accomodate one. It did cause some tense moments with impatient passengers as I held off the hoard from trampling this poor lady while deplaning. Has anyone else gone through this system? Is it being tried alsewhere?

I think Alaska Airlines has it at OAK, Uncle Mikey, but we haven't tried it yet. Sounds pretty neat, though:)
