Well, I DID IT!! I finished 17 miles!!!

It was HARD, but not as hard as I thought it would be. I am kind of sore right now, but I expected that. It took me just over 3 hours, my average pace was just under 11 mpm. I tried to take it easy and not worry about the time, since i really just wanted to get the distance in. My new philosophy is that I really need to worry about getting the distance in....my goal for the marathon is to just finish...I am not setting any time goal, since it is my first marathon and I have no idea what to expect. And I want to enjoy my first marathon, and not be disappointed if I don't finish in a particular amount of time.
I have to say, I am really psyched today, but only one down-point...I didn't get my marathon packet in the mail.

A few people on the boards received them yesterday and today....but no luck here. OH well, hopefully it will come on Monday!!! I can't wait....for me it will make it feel that much more real!!
Scott--As I was finishing the 17 miles, all I kept thinking was the marathon is 9 more miles!!! YIKES! I was beat at the end of the 17, I couldn't even imagine going 9 more......luckily I still have a while, and I am sure I will be able to do it, it just seems like so much right now!
Stacie--Thanks for stopping by! 11 months ago, I couldnt' even fathom running 17 miles, and I did it. I just followed my training plans and didn't try to push it too much. So, if I can do it....so can you...you just have to work up to it!!!
