Day 12 Nassau and the Pirate Party
We got up around 8am and saw that we were coming in to the Bahamas. We headed up to the Beach Blanket buffet for breakfast around 8:30am. We sat outside to have breakfast, so we could watch the ship going into the port. We finished our breakfast and headed back to the room to pick up everything we may need. We headed down and disembarked at around 9:30! It was a lovely hot day! We had a wander through the marketplace and then headed out on to the main street. We had a look through the straw market and then had a look in some of the jewellery shops! There was some stunning rings and necklaces if only I had a spare few thousand dollars! Next up was the Tortuga Rum shop we sampled some pineapple rum cake which was delicious. We purchased a bottle of rum, 3 original rum cakes and a chocolate rum cake before heading back to the ship at lunch time.
We went back to the room to drop all our stuff off and headed down to the adults only pool area for the afternoon. We grabbed some sun loungers near the pool and Gary headed off to get some Chicken tenders for lunch. We lazed around the pool for several hours cocktails in hand! The entertainment team came round and played a golf game they put a little geen astro turf mat on the side of the pool, and some guy stood in the middle of the pool holding up a life ring. We had to try and hit a tennis ball through the ring using a golf club it was quite good fun although I was terrible! The 2 guys who were doing it were English and were actually from an area about 5 mins away from where we live!
We went back up to the room around 4pm to have a shower and get changed for dinner. We were eating in Parrot Cay tonight and it was the pirate party!! We met the rest of the team outside the restaurant before going in. We all put our pirate bandanas on and ordered one of the cocktails! The menu was again really good, my dad couldnt decide what main dish to have between the mixed grill and a fish dish so the waiter brought him the both! All of the food was delicious!!
We went back to the room so that I could change my shoes into something a little more comfortable for the pirate party later. We went up to the deck above the pool and grabbed one of the tables that over looked the stage and so we would have a good view of the fireworks! As it was only me and DH who had been on the cruise before the rest of the family were not sure what to expect! We sent the men off to get us some Bahama Mamas just before the party started. The characters were all really good but Stitch was definitely my favourite! After the party and after we had watched the fireworks we watched a little bit of Pirates of the Caribbean on the big screen before decided to head over to wavebands to watch crazy karaoke! Id been telling my parents all about it and said how funny it was all the little things that they do etc. We didnt sing anything, we just had a few more rum cocktails and watched everyone else! We eventually headed back to the room around 1am.
I do have some photos from the cruise but unfortunately there all on my PC at home - which is being repaired at the moment! As soon as i get it back i will post all my piccy's!
