Laundry Question

The maids won't take that laundry bag in your closet and assume they are to take it if the laundry form isn't filled out. Besides, I take it out of the closet and leave the clothes in the corner of the room so it's obvious it's not for them to take.

Thanks for your response. I'm glad that they just don't take them. We didn't have the form filled out at this hotel either and they took it anyway. The bag was not in the closet, so I was really peeved, but since it was close to going home I was too tired to argue it.

Thanks again,

After doing laundry in many other hotels across the country those washers and dryers at disney was GREAT!!!!!

Try to pack lightweight clothing that will dry quickly. That helps a lot even then DH's jean shorts sometimes ends up on a hanger in the room overnight to finish drying.

I've found the best time to do laundry is midafternoon during our afternoon break. Don't wait till you HAVE to do laundry that day either chances are if machines all full 1 afternoon they wouldn't be the next day.

We stayed at POP last spring and did laundry a few times. The kids swam while I did the laundry..very convenient with the laundry area next to the pool. We used our large suitcase (one with wheels) to carry our laundry down to the laundry area...then folded them there and transported them back and put them away in the drawers and closet..left the suitcase in the corner to collect dirty laundry..kept the room somewhat tidy :sunny:
Have fun :thumbsup2

Washer is $2 per load; Dryer $2 per 30 minutes. Take your own detergent and fabric softener, if you use it. That way you use the same products as at home and can avoid allergies!

There are temperature controls on the dryers--I always set mine on low, so I hope the next person checks it! :)

I didn't have any problems with washer/dryer access in December, 2004. Only two other people were using the laundry facilities in the 50s area.

I always take a roll of quarters with me and save some from change, as well. Need them for the tolls and laundry! :)

Ill be washing 2x on my next trip, (9days). I always feel dirty when I dont wash twice a week, We'll bring quarters, soap and sheets, ans trash bags to transport

I try to pack the same way, bringing lightweight clothing and light shorts. My one son loves his denims though and those are the ones that take forever to dry.

We did laundry at Coronado Springs and had no problem. Large washers and dryers. One thing though -- in laundramats in general, you're better off springing for an extra dryer and putting the lightweight stuff in one and the heavier stuff in another. One pair of jeans seems like it can keep an entire load damp no matter what the setting. Check the dryer with the lighter weight stuff halfway or 3/4 through, then empty it quickly and split the load from the heavier dryer, putting half in the newly emptied dryer with remaining time on it.

Cotton t-shirts, underwear and shorts don't take as long to dry as the cycle, so use that to your advantage.

The Target Dollar Spot will occassionally have laundry items (clothespins, laundry bags, etc.). I just bought a couole of those when they went on clearance for 50 cents. And, I have been sending detergent samples to everyone in my family when they come up on the DIS. I should have plenty of detergent and dryer sheets for our trip ...

I used the pop-up hamper for the first time on our trip to CBR this past January. I purchased it at Target for $12.00. It was large, but not too large for carrying our clothes to and from the laundry room. Very handy. I also bring 2 rolls of quarters and detergent, etc. from home. Its makes doing laundry easier, since everything is ready to go in advance.

Daisax-

I'm laughing reading your post because I do the same exact thing that you do!!! It may cost more but at least by splitting up the clothes that go into the dryer you are only using the dryer for the one cycle. When the clothes with the lighter items dry and as long as I still have time on the dryer, then I'll split the clothes again. It's always the denims though....

Target sells the small bottles of Tide (4 loads) for $1.00. I would take a laundry/duffle bag so that everything is easier to carry. ;)
