We are sailing on the Magic on October 23 and staying on deck 7. Where is the laundry room on deck 7, and how much does a washing machine or a dryer cost? Do they take quarters, or do you have to buy tokens?

Thanks!

Laundry room on Deck 7 is on the starboard (right) side of the ship across from stateroom #7590. Other laundry rooms are on Deck 6 across from stateroom #6588 starboard (right) side and Deck 2 across from stateroom #2096 port (left) side. As I recall, it's $1 to wash and $1 to dry. The machines take quarters. There is change machine and detergent/fabric softener/beach machine. I believe those were $1 each. HTH

Don't quote me on this but I heard you should take dryer sheets if you use them. Apparently the machines only sell liquid softener?

We usually make up a ziplock bag with quarters, dryer sheets and laundry tablets for our cruises. Also, $1 is not enough to dry your clothes, it usually takes at least two cycles.

Also - you can put in enough money for two cycles on the dryer (ie you don't have to come back to put more money in to finish the clothes once it stops the first time).

One more laundry question~ is it Ok to leave? I mean no one has ever taken anything? We are going to be there after 4 days at WDW and I am thinking if we board early enough maybe we can put some in real quick? Or are the halls not open?

Jen,

They usually don't open the halls till about 1:30 or so but the laundry should be pretty empty even then.

We just put the clothes in and came back when they were done. Same with the dryers. The washers and dryers give you a "time remaining" so you can watch the clock in your stateroom as you're unpacking.

I think it's a little inconsiderate of other folks to not get back to switch your things or remove them at the right time but it's probably not such a big deal on the first day.

FYI, I would take quarters since sometimes the change machines run out. Previous posters idea of quarters, dryer sheets and laundry tabs sounds good.

Have fun.

One thing I was disappointed in during my cruise was the laundry. One room was closed for maintenance, so the others got very crowded. I got up early (6 ish) to do laundry, and even at that early hour, all the machines were taken. WHen I finally got one, the dryers took at least two cycles - wasted a good four hours between waiting and doing the laundry.

jenlovesdisney,

Have you thought about doing your laundry at WDW instead? It might be easier and less crowded.

The room was deserted, I put laundry in to dry, came back in 30 minutes to find nice lady folding my laundry out of the drier....
Took my surprise goodie platter from the concierge team, Brent and Rebecca, down and we all had a laundry party...
Never did find that brand new hot red sports bra, though......

I know it would be less crowded, but I am unsure when I would do it. We are going to be at the CBR and I am hesitant about leaving it there, but maybe we could go swimming while it is going. That may work out pretty well. Thanks!
