Liquid or Powder :confused3

I didn't want to hijack my own other thread....so I started new. Thanks for all the brand suggestions....now, which do you prefer liquid or powder?

I swear by Tide because I think it works the best, however it is expensive. We switched to the powdered tide because you just get more washes for the $ compared to liquid Tide. We buy it in bulk.

I buy generic liquid laundry detergent. It been awhile since I bought one but I think I paid around $20 for 300 ounce bottle. But for going on trips I buy one of those small jugs of what ever brand just happens to be the cheapest and leave it in the back of the van until I need it at a hotel room.

The way my mom taught me was powder for whites, liquid for darks. . . If I don't do that then I just do liquid.

All Free and Clear "HE" liquid for me!

1. it is creap
2. there is no smell
3. it gets my clothes clean
4. it works in my HE washer

After having plumbing problems in the laundry room the plumber told me to use liquid. He said it was easier on the washing machine and on the pipes. Not sure how true it is.

We love the 3-in-1 sheets. No fuss at all! Cleans well, does not stain the clothes, they make some which are scent-free, clothes are soft with no static, and they travel well. It's a win-win! :thumbsup2

I have used Purex liquid for years and have always been happy with it.

I use liquid. I have a front-loading Whirlpool with the dispenser cups that you fill at the start of the cycle, and then the detergent, etc is released into the washer at the appropriate time. Anyhow, I tried powder once (had a box given to me by a neighbor who moved) and it totally gunked up my little dispenser cups. Spent hours using toothbrushes and Q-tips to clean all the nasty powder residue out of all the nooks and crannies. :sad2: Never again, thanks.

There are many things where I will use the generic brand. Laundry detergent is not one of them -- liquid Tide, all the way!

Liquid Tide HE (cannot use regular with a front loader...well you can but will have LOTS of suds) and have to use liquid because we have a septic tank and powder can clog it.

Never thought I would switch from using liquid Tide, but I have. It's just to darn expensive. I'm a Purex user now and have been pleasantly surprised and happy with it. Should have switched long ago.

My plumber also told me to use only liquid - powder detergents clog and gunk up the pump. Was a powder user, but he showed me the clogged up pump so I switched.

I also use Purex Free n Clear Liquid. I love the liquid and haven't used powder in many years. I have very hard water so I find the liquid is just easier plus I have a septic tank. Our plumber also told us it was better to use liquid.

We use liquid....when living in a humid climate our powder would clump. So I guess we just got used to the liquid.
