I know I can't do :laundy: at the PBH (no self serve) so if anyone can help out with these questions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

1) How much do they charge to do it for you at the PBH (do I need to take out a Home Equity loan)?
2) Has anyone used this service and how was it?
3) Will the boat drop me off at the HRH from the PBH and once I'm there, will the boat take me from HRH to PBH? (I'm thinking of pool day at the HRH will I get some launrdry done).
4) What location is the best to do laundry at the HRH if I'm just visiting and at the pool?

Thanks!

the only question i can comment on is the boat from pbh will drop you off at the city walk boat dock. it will not drop you off at hrh.

if you take the boat, you will be let out at the city walk area dock area where the other two hotels drop off guests.

from there you will have to take the hrh boat to get there.

you can take a bus from your hotel as it circles around to all the hotels and park drop off.

or you can walk
take a cab
or take the rickshaw

there is one other suggestion. All of the hotels have vehicles that are available for guest use. You have to be a VIP to borrow the cars, but you could Just go to the valet when you arrive and tell them that you would like a ride to and from the HRH. I cant imagine that they wouldn't take you if they have the car and someone to drive you available, just set it up in advance.

We stay at the HRH and I always set this up to go to the spa at the PBH. I tip at least $10 each way.

I think you can just walk between the 2 resorts. They didn't seem to be that far apart. Maybe 5-10 minutes. You could just put your clothes in a suitcase with wheels.

Now, I don't know how the HR's laundry room works. :confused3 The one at RPR requires you to open it with your room card. I would assume the HR's is the same.

I'd just call the front desk and ask if you can "laundry room hop". ;)

After doing laundry at the HRH, I would say don't even bother trying. The laundry facilities are small and there are never machines open; even at off times. We are staying at PBH and while I didn't realize they didn't have a laundry room, I didn't plan on doing laundry anyway (even though I would like to). Why can't the powers that be figure out that people need to do laundry while on vacation??? Sorry, but I'm not sending out my underwear for someone else to wash! I hate having to pack enough clothes for the entire trip.

Thanks for all the information. We are going to be there for 9 nights so I agree that they need to make doing laundry easier for guests.

I've never heard of being able to take a rickshaw. Is this something new and what are the details? Number of people/price etc.

Thanks!

when i was there last october 2006, they had them.
don't remember seeing them in 2005 though.

We are just back from HRH and maybe I can answer a couple of your questions...

I didn't check out the cost of the laundry service at HRH, but I did look at the cost sheet when we finished up our vacation a the Hilton Garden Inn SeaWorld. I remember seeing that PJ's were $7.00! I bet PBH is even higher. Definitely much cheaper to do your own laundry, even if it means taking a taxi between resorts. Remember, the taxi will start out with a $2.00 just for sitting there and waiting for a rider.

HRH has laundry rooms on the 2nd and 4th floor. They each have 4 washers, 4 dryers, a change machine, TV, folding counter, two stools and a soap and bounce vendng machine. Tide and regular scented bounce. Wash and dry were each $2. The washer really spun the clothes dry! I believe the soap and bounce were each $1. Thought I took a close-up of the cost, but can't find it. I used the the laundry rooms on both floors during our trip. :laundy: I did laundry on two different days and did not have to wait for a machine. I don't know if that was the norm, or if I just hit it lucky. I did laundry in the middle of the afternoon, probably between 1 and 3 o'clock.

As for location, the only difference is the elevator ride. The entrance to the pool is on level 1.

Wash cycles lasted about 40 minutes and dry cycles lasted 63/64 minutes. There are countdown clocks on all machines, so you can time when you have to check back in order to snag a machine if all are in use when you arrive there.

I'm going to try to post pics...

HRH Laundry Room (notice one washer was broken - it was fixed by the time I did my second round of laundry, probably two days later):

Thank you for the pics! I have only done our laundry at Disney, but I thought that Disney had the soap dispensers special made with hidden mickeys. Who knew that this is just how they are .... lol. So what did you DH say when he saw the pictures of the laundry room??:rotfl:

Oh my goodness, I would never have even noticed that! LOL! As for DH, he has given up trying to stop me... If he's hungry enough he'll even take the pic of his meal himself rather than wait for me to take it. He knows he's not touching it until I get a pic!

Wow! Thank you so much for posting the wonderful pictures and for all the information. I couldn't ask for anything better! :thumbsup2
