Laundry Basket???

We are staying in a studio at AKV and I am wondering if I can request a laundry basket from housekeeping. I plan to do laundry at least once (probably twice) while we are there and I like the ease of carrying a basket vs. a laundry bag. We are traveling very light (only one small checked bag that will be used for our "oversized" liquids) so I don't have a lot of extra room for a collapsible hamper or the like.

I would use the luggage. It could be a bit of a walk to the laundry room. I stuff our dirty cloths into a plastic garbage bag and toss it in a rolling luggage when I head out. If it's not crowded, I fold as i pull it out from the dryer directly into the luggage.

if you want something more permanent than a trash bag, you can also get a collapsible laundry basket/bin from Amazon or Bed, Bath and Beyond/Linens and Things. they're usually quite big, but very light and (as the name suggests) collapse so you can fold them up to fit in your luggage or owner's locker.

Have you seen the collapsible laundry baskets? It's a wire frame with mesh that sort of pops open. when you first buy it, it comes all folded up in about a 5"x5" circle. Toss that right into your luggage then pop it up to use there. I bring one with me every time and don't even fold it small. It collapses totally flat anyway so I just put it on top of all my clothes when I pack. Takes no space at all.

i would go to walmart, they sell mesh collapsable laundry baskets for like $5

Housekeeping will usually bring most anything available in a 1 br+ to a studio except for pots and pans. Blenders, knives, cutting boards...ask away!

I've been requesting additional pillows and blankets for years, but had no idea they'd bring knives and cutting boards. (even folk in studios like to be able to cut up fruit every so often.) I don't have to pack them anymore?!!! .... I almost bought a bright colored set with sleeves so I could pack them better.
