Just a quick question, I was reading on the restaurant board that you could get a launch from the MK to the Poly, but they didn't mention where the dock was. I have a PS at the Kona Cafe on EMH at the MK and this sounds like a time saver. Is there a map on the web that shows the dock locations?

I don't know if there is a map but we've taken the launch many times so I can try to help. The docks are right in front of the main entrance to the MK. There are overhead signs directing you to the correct boat....boats to FW&WL, ferries to the TTC. The one for the GF and Polynesian is usually the furthest to the right as you face the lake. It's sort of tucked behind the ramp to the resort monorail...usually. For a while it was more centrally located, but it's been back to its' usual spot on our last few trips.

You will go from the MK to the GF before the Polynesian. The return trip is faster as it's direct from the Polynesian to MK. And sometimes only one launch is operating so you may have to wait a bit. We do love them though. It's so relaxing to return to the resort after a busy am in the MK.

Welcome. Wanted to add that you might want to evaluate the transportation situation as you leave the MK. We check and see if a resort monorail is on its way from the GF or just pulling in to the monorail station. If that's the case, that will probably be your fastest route to Kona as the monorail will drop you off on the 2nd floor right by the restaurant. But if a launch is pulling in and a monorail is leaving the MK, you might take the launch.

We also check out the large ferries as they cross very quickly but that's probably not the best choice for you since you're heading to Kona.

The launch is so pleasant though.:boat:

When we stayed at the Polynesian last summer, we usually took the smaller boats back from MK. It was quite pleasant.

If you're eating at the Kona cafe , the monorail would be much faster. It's right there on the second floor instead of walking to the water.
