How much time should I reserve for Launch Bay with and with out an meet and greet? Is this something better done at Rope drop Or would I be better doing Rock N Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror at RD?

The movie lasts about 10-15min, but we had to wait a little while for it to begin. When we came out, lines for the meet and greets were about 40min each. Or, you can bypass the movie and just go straight to the meet and greet. The times will be posted before you go in. You may also want to leave time to wander through the displays. How long you're there will depend on your interests.

I allow 2 hours for my son. In addition to the characters, he loves the video games.

I was there Saturday afternoon in the rain. We skipped the movie, (have seen it before, it's basically an infomercial for The Force Awakens) didn't do either of the meet & greets, and wandered around for about 20 minutes. The meet & greet for Darth Vader was 45 min, Chewbacca was around 20.
If you or someone is super into Star Wars, or if it's crowded, it can take longer. I'd estimate 20 min with no meet & greet and no movie, about an hour with the movie, and 2 hours if you do both meet & greets.

^^ Would agree with the posters above in terms of time. I will add that I highly recommend the Chewbacca M&G, even if meeting characters generally isn't your thing. He is amazing! My family are only moderate Star Wars fans but we all LOVED this. When I went the posted wait time was 30 min, but we got through it in probably 20 or less.

I was going to say 10-20 minutes. Remembering that the props are "replica props" -- not actual film props -- quenched my interest considerably.

If you decide to skip the movie, just advise a CM that you don't want to wait -- they'll show you the way to the displays.

We did the Visa M&G and waited about 40 minutes. If we'd known it would be that long, I don't think we would have waited. Darth Vader was great though. So time well spent. BUT, it meant we just did a cursory look through the rest of Launch Bay because of timing. I'd have liked to explore more.

Ok so I came up with a plan after reading every ones comments and hoping you guys can give your opinion. Although someone said avoid at RD we have seen many of the rides and shows at our last visit in 2014 and due to time we plan on seeing what we have not seen this trip. By utilizing FP I think we may try to hit Launch Bay at RD. I also like to plan our day so there is less walking or back tracking since my older parents are with us. They are very active but limiting the walking and standing they have to do make it more comfortable for them. Here is the plan please feel free to comment and tweak it where you wish. If there are things we can add some where in the plan by all means please let me know. After Indiana we do plan on leaving the park to go to the Aloha Dinner Show but plan on returning to the park just to see Fantasmic unless we can fit something else in. I plan on trying to get a fourth FP for Fantasmic before we leave the park since we will have used our three FP.
9:00 to 10:00 Launch Bay (Main Goal; see Chewie and what ever else we have time for)
10:00 to 10:30 Twilight Zone (FP)
10:30 to 11:25 Beauty and the Beast (11:00 am show)
11:30 to 12:00 Rock N Roller Coaster (FP)
12:15 to 1:00 ABC (lunch)
1:00 to 2:00 For the First Time in Forever (1:30 show)
2:00 to 2:30 Shop at Tatoonic Traders
2:30 to 3:30 Indiana Jones (3:00 show) (FP)
5:15 Spirit of Aloha Show at the Poly
8:30 Fantasmic

We all hate ABC! Food choices aren't great anywhere in HS, but we all thought the Star Wars food at Backlot was decent. And definitely better than abc.

I will have to check that out. Thanks!

Regarding the Disney Visa Meet & Greet - is it well-marked where to go? And was the wait time similar to the Launch Bay meet & greet times?

DS is a huge Darth Vader fan, he kisses every picture of him he sees :lovestruc But I hear Kylo Ren is replacing DV when we go in 3 weeks. Any chance DV will still be at the Disney Visa meet & greet?

The Visa meet is not well marked. But if you ask any CM you see, they will point it out to you. When we were there was a 30 minute wait at the regular meet, and we had no wait at all at Visa... Walked right in.

Unfortunately Kylo Ren has already replaced Vader at both meet and greets. Vader only appears in Jedi training.

OMG - without even kidding, Chewbacca was one of my favorite things in all of Disney World. I don't know how they do it, but its seriously amazing. He's so great.
